John 21:17ab 6-7-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" John‬ ‭21:17‬ab

Do you love me?  Jesus forces Peter to the point that he becomes distressed.  God wants to be in our conscious thoughts, he wants for us to recognize our love for Him.  God's love for us is conscious, He knows you by name, He knows ever hair on your head, He knows you.  You are loved by the Father, even in our weaknesses.  Like Peter, can you respond yes to God each time He asks?  God forces us to think about our love for Him.  Love isn't just a feeling, it is actions, it is giving of self no matter the circumstances.

What is God saying to me: You are loved for I told You so, do you love Me with all your heart?

Dear Father, like Peter, You know the answer, I love Your message this morning, You find ways to be conscious to me.  I love You, I have much to learn but You are the teacher and I am the student.  Father, speak to the souls that doubt Your existence, help them see that love takes time on their part but You love them and know them through and through.  Bless this day Father, words can not express my love for You.  To God be the Glory, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

Day 8 of the Novena to the Holy Ghost

Peace be with you!

Today we are going to pray for self-control. All of us could use more of it in our daily lives in one way or another.

Here are the prayers for today:

Your prayer intentions

Self-Control

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus' name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar's heart for Your gift of Self-Control within us.

Your Martyrs had the overwhelming self-control to go joyfully to a painful death without shrinking from the opportunity to join You in heaven. Give us this self-control to have command over our emotions and desires that we may serve You more fully.

Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord,

Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
