"You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one! He the LORD, is our God whose judgments reach through all the earth. He remembers forever his covenant, the word he commanded for a thousand generations, Which he made with Abraham, and swore to Isaac," Psalms 105:6-9
Covenant relationship takes two participants, God is always present in His Covenant, am I? We will face the mercy seat of judgement each of us. Will our lives show our participation in the Covenant relationship? Interesting question isn't it, it requires us to think about how we act and respond to God. He is always present, maybe it is shame, guilt, fear, anxiety that pops up within us in an innocent conversation, is that us recognizing how we are operating outside our Covenant relationship. God is giving us glimpses of areas that we need to address. There are tremendous graces that come from the Sacrament of Confession. We need to be reconciled with God in our lives, we need that cleansing, that purification of our souls to renew our strength. Forgiveness requires effort and thought, deep thought. You are the descendants of Abraham. (Listen to the Sond), He never gives up.
What is God saying to me: Correction is a purification process, it is a pruning that is painful, out of pain comes new growth.
Dear Father, I love how you operate and speak through others. I ask that you continue to bless the small communities that are continuing to form. Help us see that in sharing with each other we become more sensitive to Your promptings. We become accountable to our side of the Covenant relationship with You. Father, You are the quarterback not the other way around. I am hear to serve You in what ever capacity You will allow this day. Thank You for the searching and digging this morning, I enjoy the lesson and the fine tuning. May I carry You into the day and not wander off only to return with my head hung low. You are Mighty God and I, Your servant. Amen.
Mary, Mother of All, pray for us.
