"If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the holy Spirit to those who ask him?"
But if it is by the finger of God that [I] drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you." Luke 11:13, 20
Advent Day 11 - The humanity of Christ. I have this picture of a father looking upon his son with love watching him go about his day. When a child ask for help, the father knows how to help, he knows to give a hand, he knows to give a little direction, he shows him what to do, he gives him guidance and allows the child to learn. God the Father, Our Father, offers us the same opportunity. Jesus, His Perfect Son, offers glimpses into what we are capable of. Jesus is God but while on earth He is the perfect Son. It isn't Christ that drives our demons but God through Christ, He was sent here to teach us to be perfect sons and daughters, to show us the way. The same Father Jesus has is also there for each of us. He looks upon you as He did Jesus. You can go on your own, like the Pharisees or you can allow God to work through you. Did Jesus instinctively know this or did He have to learn it from our Blessed Mother?
What is God saying to me: I am watching with love even in your failures you are learning and growing. March on.
Dear Father, You are the Great Teacher who gives us Your Perfect Son and perfect daughter. Thank You for this perfect examples of a holy life, a realization that it is something that is achievable if we become child like and allow ourselves to be taught. There is purpose in everything that You do Father, Thank You for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, for the joy to walk with You each day and for the example of Your Son and daughter. Prayers for more men and women to have child like faith and to walk with You each day. Bless this day, protect us from the evil one and be ever in our thoughts, In the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Pray for us.
