Luke Chapter 13, Advent Day 13

"The Lord said to him in reply, "Hypocrites! Does not each one of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his ass from the manger and lead it out for watering?" Luke‬ ‭13:15‬

Advent Day 13 - Discipleship.  Jesus challenges each of us to be His disciples.  He came here and taught twelve disciples to go into the world to preach the gospel.  Their salvation was determined by what they did with what God gave them.  He didn't save them so they could go their own way, Judas did that.  God's Word challenges us to action to be like the Master.  Jesus is not your ox or ass that can used for labor, that you can go to when work needs to be done.  You are not to whip Him and beat Him to get the job done.  He is the food that gives us strength to go into the vineyard so you can be His disciples.  He is the example that we are to follow.  "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." Like 13:35c

What is God saying to me: Not all will understand but you are doing as I am asking.  Go in peace today.

Dear Lord, there are many that are held back by their unrepentant heart, they see you as their salvation not realizing that we are to strive to enter the narrow Gate.  Help each of us see the power of Your holy food that we get to feast on, it isn't to get fat but to fuel us for the mission.  Thank You Father for letting me see what I see, help me continue to strive, put the words into my mouth today when called upon, lead me out into the world so You can thrive.  Prayers for a friend being held back, may his struggle unite his heart with Yours.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Victory, pray for us.
