Psalms 17 - Give me Jesus

"Rise, O LORD, confront and cast them down; rescue my soul from the wicked. Slay them with your sword; with your hand, LORD, slay them; snatch them from the world in their prime. Their bellies are being filled with your friends; their children are satisfied too, for they share what is left with their young."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭17:13-14‬

Psalms 17 - Give me Jesus.  As I read Psalm 17, David, a man walking in faith must of been facing some tremendous peril as he put them into words.  He must of felt surrounded and really needing God.  Then I read it from the perspective of Jesus during His last days and the scripture came to life.  His plea was not to place harm upon those who were coming after Him but to snatch them from the world, to give them a new life.  David was living the life of Jesus, can we live the life of Jesus?  Can we wish good for those who are persecuting us?  Can we live this Psalm?  We can if we have Jesus on the inside just as David had.

What is God saying to me:  My Son lives, David lived his life filled with My presence and sought Me out in his daily life.  This verse gives evidence to his victory.  "I am just—let me see your face; when I awake, let me be filled with your presence."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭17:15‬ ‭You do the same!

Dear Father, You prepare me for the day and put that yearning in my soul to be with You in the morning.  I am seeing victory spreading and hearts being snatched from the world.  You are inflaming the hearts of the faithful and giving us new hearts.  Thank You Father for the opportunities that You place in front of us to give You witness to Your presence in our lives.  Prayers for those feeling persecuted may they be filled with the presence of Jesus in their lives and stand tall.  In Jesus name, Amen.
