Week 4 - The Journey Day 1
"Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him." John 13:16
"Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him." John 13:16
Do you know better than God? Judas thought so and his friend Jesus speaks truth to him as he has just gotten his feet washed. Judas wasn't listening, he had already made his mind up that his way was better. Pride had gotten the better of Judas, why would he listen to Jesus. Jesus on the other hand had submitted Himself to the disciples being their servant, a slave, by washing their feet.
When we submit ourselves to the authority of those that God has placed over us and trust in God's Divine will then we are giving the best parts of ourselves away. We aren't eaten up with our own pride and ego and allowing this sin to get the better of us. Judas couldn't let go of his sin of pride and Jesus went to extraordinary lengths to reach him.
Authority in our own lives has purpose, when we get the big head then we are taking God out of the equation. Allow God to work with you, in a covenant relationship the thinking is the same and if it isn't there is mutual respect to sit and visit with each other. Allow God to speak, Father knows best.
What is God saying to me: Give it time, My way is better.
Dear Father, I see Jesus suffering as the one He loves goes against Your will, even as they broke bread together Jesus knew His spirit and couldn't change it. Allow us to see ways in where we play god and question why, thinking we know better. When we do reach out, may we not impose our will upon another and allow You to reach the lost and forsaken. Prayers for those in very difficult position having to make decisions that would appear to go against Your will from a worldly viewpoint. Watch over us this day, help us avoid the sin of Pride so we may better serve You. In Jesus name, Amen. Triune God be my all. Triune God be my all. Triune God be my all.
Mary, Mother of Jesus, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Foster Father of Jesus, Pray for us.
