Genesis 20 7-31-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"God answered him in the dream: Yes, I know you did it with a pure heart. In fact, it was I who kept you from sinning against me; that is why I did not let you touch her. So now, return the man's wife so that he may intercede for you, since he is a prophet, that you may live. If you do not return her, you can be sure that you and all who are yours will die.

Abraham then interceded with God, and God restored health to Abimelech, to his wife, and his maidservants, so that they bore children;"  Genesis‬ ‭20:6-7, 17‬

God protects both Abraham and Abimelech, He watches over us when we walk together. "Blessed those who do what is right, whose deeds are always just." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭106:3‬.  Abraham assumed the king was not a godly man and took matters, once again into his own hands.  The king was under God's protection and God had sent Abraham to intercede for him.  There are times in our lives we need someone to intercede for us.  God has blessed them with certain gifts and graces.  Do we recognize those that God has sent into our midst to intercede for us?  And do we intercede for others that are in need of intercessory prayer?  We encounter many people each day, a simple prayer to God your Father maybe just what they need.

What is God saying to me: Patience is a virtue that I teach, it can not be rushed.

Dear Father, we are all in need of prayer, we need Your saving grace to conquer this world.  I see many caught in the trap and You reaching out to save them.  May they realize that they were there when they crucified Your Son.  Free us from the bondage of sin so we may glorify You in our daily life's.  Prayers for families caught in the trappings of sin.  Thank You Lord for making me wait.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Genesis 19 7-30-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"He urged them so strongly, however, that they turned aside to his place and entered his house. He prepared a banquet for them, baking unleavened bread, and they dined.

When he hesitated, the men, because of the LORD's compassion for him, seized his hand and the hands of his wife and his two daughters and led them to safety outside the city. As soon as they had brought them outside, they said: "Flee for your life! Do not look back or stop anywhere on the Plain. Flee to the hills at once, or you will be swept away."  ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭19:3, 16-17‬

God saves.  Lot was saved by the intercession of Abraham, the power of prayer.  We live in a world that does not see the power of prayer, we live in a world that picks and chooses which of God's instructions they follow, justifying their actions and not fully realizing the consequences.  Lot and his family were told not to look back, his wife looked back and was not saved.  It is ironic that in today's readings Moses was writing down the Ten Commandments and some begin "Thou shall not".  Just like the inhabitants of Sodomn, we get to choose our own path, God will send His angels to watch over us if we are obeying.  Otherwise we will suffer the consequences unless we repent.  The Sacrament of confession is a wonderful grace that we can receive and it is in God's Word.  Be blessed today and do not look back, your salvation is in front of you, not behind.

What is God saying to me:  I speak to Your heart and give you graces that are beyond your understanding.  We are working in unison.

Dear God who saves, I thank You for another day to go into the world and live my life in Your presence.  I ask that You use me this day to speak to someone that needs to know that You save and You give us instructions to follow.  I am blessed to be able to have this time each day to ponder Your word and live it in my daily walk.  I thank You for the angels that are watching over all Your faithful.  May we be a pleasing offering in Your sight and may we reflect the light of Christ to those around us.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-18 7-28-2019

"Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, "Quick, three measures of bran flour! Knead it and make bread."

Abraham spoke up again: "See how I am presuming to speak to my Lord, though I am only dust and ashes! What if there are five less than fifty righteous people? Will you destroy the whole city because of those five?" I will not destroy it, he answered, if I find forty-five there." Genesis‬ ‭18:6, 27-28‬

Lessons from this day and this chapter - a generous heart and a concern for others.  We are all given gifts from our Heavenly Father, He is the Bread of Life: "this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."" ‭‭John‬ ‭6:50-51‬  Do we have a generous heart, do we use the gifts God gives us?  Abraham gave of his wealth, he gave of the bread of life that was given him.  He was concerned for others, he took his plea to God and asked for God to save.  We are each given one life, we are given treasures, do we give what has been given us?  God gave all so we could live, do we give all?  There are those in this world who are blessed, recognize your gifts and give, have concern for others.  Be His light, His strength brings a new world waiting to be opened by the Holy Spirit.  Live your faith.

What is God saying to me: to whom much is given, much is expected.  Do not concern yourself with the outcome, live with joy and witness my peace.

Dear Father, words can not express the joy and generosity that You are showing us.  Help us live in the world but not of the world.  Open our eyes to those around us that are in need, help us share our joys and treasure with those that we meet.  Help us live life without the constraints of being self centered, help us not judge but to love unconditionally.  Prayers for a friend that is showing that to all he meets.   Bless this day Lord God and may we bring the love of Jesus to all that we meet.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-17 7-28-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said: I am God the Almighty. Walk in my presence and be blameless.

No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I am making you the father of a multitude of nations."
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17:1, 5‬

Abram's life was not perfect, as you have read he made mistakes but he was always faithful to God.  He made ever effort to honor God.  God transforms this old man into Abraham.  He has learned many things as he followed the voice of God.  Our walk with God will be blameless as well as we heed His voice.  We are called to listen, to respond and bear witness to Him.  In this vast world you may feel insignificant but with God, you and He will move mountains.  Never underestimate the power of God, look around you, He created all of it, it is good as you are. Listen, Abraham listened and he became the father of many nations.

What is God saying to me: Be my faithful follower, there is more to come.  I do not seek perfection just willingness.

Dear Father God, You know how my heart beats with You in it.  I am surrounded by Your good creation and the perfectness of it.  I thank You for creating me in Your image and likeness.  May I always honor
You, may I not be overwhelmed by the vastness but see the beauty in all.  May I see the perfection that You are creating in each of us.   I thank You for this day, I ask for prayers for a young lady missing her father, give her peace in knowing Daddy is still watching over her.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Joy, pray for us.

Genesis Ch-16 7-27-2019 4www.dailythoughts.com

"So Sarai said to Abram: "This outrage against me is your fault. I myself gave my maid to your embrace; but ever since she knew she was pregnant, I have lost stature in her eyes. May the LORD decide between you and me!"" ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭16:5‬

Spiritual awareness and spiritual leadership.  As a husband, father and a man, are you aware of what God has given you purpose for?  Some would read this story and not see Abram at fault but Sara is right.  Just like Adam, Abram did not take charge and honor God by obeying Him.  Abram neglected God's plan and was unaware of the consequences of his decision.   Always be attentive to what you are called to do.  Do not neglect or overlook what God intends for you.  Be the leader in your own household, be spiritually aware of the decisions that you are asked to make.

What is God saying to me: Pay attention to the details and be aware when you are being asked to go against my will.

Dear Father, this day has been beautiful, your beauty is magnificent and awe inspiring.    I thank You for being able to enjoy this time and reflect upon what we are called to do.  I pray for men to accept their spiritual leadership within their own households.  I pray for women who are seeking this in their life's, to encourage their growth together and allow their spouse to grow into who God calls each of us too.  I thank You for the memories and the opportunities that You present to each of us.  Bless the rest of this day and show us to always share with love, to not hurt but to build.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-15 7-26-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"When the sun had set and it was dark, there appeared a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch, which passed between those pieces. On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the Great River, the Euphrates,". Genesis‬ ‭15:17-18‬

Genesis Ch-14 7-25-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"When Abram heard that his kinsman had been captured, he mustered three hundred and eighteen of his retainers, born in his house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. He and his servants deployed against them at night, defeated them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. He recovered all the possessions. He also recovered his kinsman Lot and his possessions, along with the women and the other people."  Genesis‬ ‭14:14-16‬

We are in a battle and we fight for one side or the other.  One is a conscious decision the other we are most likely unaware. Lot's choice put him in the land of Sodom: "Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the LORD." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭13:13.  Did Lot know his choice would lead him to his fate, no.   Abram lived his life with God, He consciously chose God, he built God altars, he worshipped God at the altar, he chose the better path.  When you choose God and walk with Him, you still will face battles but He will see you through them.  Your choice to follow God will save others, strive for holiness and be the one God uses to rescue.  There was a day someone rescued you from the hands of the devil with a simple holy gesture.

What is God saying to me:  Listen to your heart, be attentive to My desires.  See the attachments in your life and recognize what is not of Me, continue to strive for holiness.  It is a long journey that others are counting on.

Dear Father, why can't my day be filled with the peace I have right now.  I see the battle and we are surrounded by the enemy.  But I know You are faithful and by my side.  Remove the attachments that are in my life, may I become indifferent to the outcome or circumstance.  Use me this day as we enter the battle field.  Prayers for the unknowing, may they be awakened to the reality of not walking with You and see the better path.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-13 7-24-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"the site where he had first built the altar; and there Abram invoked the LORD by name.

Abram moved his tents and went on to settle near the oak of Mamre, which is at Hebron. There he built an altar to the LORD."  Genesis‬ ‭13:4, 18‬

Read Genesis 13

Where does your power come from?  How many of us would throw caution to the wind and let someone else choose our path?  "Is not the whole land available? Please separate from me. If you prefer the left, I will go to the right; if you prefer the right, I will go to the left.""  ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭13:9.  Abram's power does not come from being in control, it does not come from his wealth and stature, it comes from his faith in God.  A strong prayer life, a faith life built upon trusting God.  Accepting the path and outcome, knowing God is in control.  Beginning each day, each journey, each decision with God and ending it with God.  This is Abrams power and we can learn a lot from him.

What is God saying to me: Your humanness and weakness struggles with this.  Trust in me with your whole heart, your whole mind, your whole body and I will show you amazing things.

Dear Abba Father, You are so good to me and I fall short each day of letting go.  Thank You for giving the insight into Your prophet Abram.  Thank You for his leadership and his desire to begin with You and end with you.   May the altar that we worship at be You and none other.  You have the words of eternal life!  I pray for families that are lost, may their hearts be softened to Your Holy Will and May they remember the mission that You set them upon.  I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Genesis Ch-12 7-23-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of the earth will find blessing in you." Genesis‬ ‭12:2-3‬

Why do we let fear and doubt interfere with our relationship with God?  God sends us forth into the world with a mission.  We are exuberant and go but then something happens, maybe it isn't going as we had thought.  Maybe we neglect God, maybe we take things into our own hands and go our own way.  Abram did just that, he forgot that God would bless him and curse those who came against him.  Abram's plan caused: "But the LORD struck Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:17‬.  We are to live our faith even with fear and doubt, we are to honor and praise God all the time and we are to follow His commandments, if not?.   God wants to use you to reach those who are following false gods, His plan is always better.

What is God saying to me: Listen to My voice, be obedient to all My instructions.

Dear Father, we are blessed this morning to walk with You and listen to Your will and instructions. Help us understand that living the faith isn't done when we are comfortable but all the time.  Our lack of faith does not allow You to shine thru and change the hearts and minds of those who do not know You.  Use us God to reach the lost, and help live out our calling in life with You at the lead.  Prayers for a friend who is dealing with pain, heal them Lord and give them peace and comfort.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-11 7-22-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the sky, and so make a name for ourselves; otherwise we shall be scattered all over the earth."" ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭11:4‬

Why do we go about building a life while ignoring the call of God?  Without the foundation of God we are sure to fail.  The one thing the people of Babel did not want is what God wanted.  God scattered them and confused their language.  I look back into my own life and can see my tower building, half way listening to God only to watch my plan fall.  God set my life on a new path, a new plan that is still unfolding.  It is better to consult God before doing your own thing.  He flooded the earth so the people could repopulate it.  Not to build an empire for themselves.  God was whispering but they were not listening.  Ignoring the whisper does not make God go away, it leads to confusion.  Listen.

What is God saying to me: listen and respond, I do not want to confuse but will if necessary.

Dear Father, time is fleeting and we desire lots of things.  The most important desire is You.  A life built upon the love of God will not fail, it learns, it hears and it responds.  Our towers fail when we go it alone, help us hear the call, help us not ignore Your will and build an incredible future with You as the foundation.  I thank You Father for being in control, may my will not get in the way, I do not want to slow us down.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-10 7-21-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"These are the clans of Noah's sons, according to their origins and by their nations. From these the nations of the earth branched out after the flood."  ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭10:32‬

As a parent there is a responsibility to pass along God's teachings.  Noah was chosen out of all the people of that time to repopulate the earth.  He listened to God and obeyed His voice.  His children were a part of God's plan because of their father.  Our children learn from our actions, in what we do and how we respond to situations.  Your children will go forth and multiply, you were chosen by God to be their parent.  This is a tremendous blessing and responsibility.  You are not alone in raising a child, God is there to help.  Be sure to call upon Him, your children are watching.

What is God saying to me: My child, there is comfort in calling upon Me to help.  I can be there when you can not.  Do not doubt what you are doing it has an impact that goes beyond this generation.  I Am God.

Dear Father, You see all and as our Father, it pains You to see Your children stray.  You allow us freedom to chose and You use difficult situations to make our paths straight.  May our childhood teaching kick in and remind the lost that You are God.  As parents may we remember the responsibility that we have been given and be the example of a Godly life.  I look forward to worshiping You within Your temple this morning and the ability to praise You with my time.  Prayers for healing in many families this morning, You will always prevail, You are God.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-9 7-20-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"When the bow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature—every mortal being that is on earth." Genesis‬ ‭9:16‬

There is nothing like seeing the beauty of a rainbow in the skies.  It's vivid colors and its vastness as it covers the sky.   The rainbow is a reminder of God's everlasting covenant.   God gives us signs to help us remember what is important in life.  God gave us the rainbow 🌈  so we could recall him and His promise.  God washed the planet clean, He baptized the planet from all sin.  Noah and his family started over.  As much as the world strives against God never forget His everlasting mercy.  His love that He has for each of us as a Father has for His children.  We can rebel against Him but He continues to seek to save us and gives us signs of His love.  The rainbow is a sign from God not to be mocked.

What is God saying to me: I love you My Son, you are like a obedient child listening to His Father and seeking to please me.

Dear Father, I am blessed this morning to watch the innocents of a child as she learns to obey her father.  Listening and rebelling at his instructions.   There are many signs around us that lead us back to You.  May we always be obedient and not let our will overpower us and fall victim to the evil one.  Help us examine our lives and she areas that You are pointing out that is leading us astray from You.  I thank You for the Holy Spirit convicting us to truth in everyday live circumstances.  Praise be Your Holy name, You are God of my soul, Amen.

Genesis Ch-8 7-19-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then God said to Noah:  Go out of the ark, together with your wife and your sons and your sons' wives. Bring out with you every living thing that is with you—all creatures, be they birds or animals or crawling things that crawl on the earth—and let them abound on the earth, and be fertile and multiply on it."  Genesis‬ ‭8:15-17‬

Go out and multiply, God's plan involves us, we are instrumental in fulfilling what He desires for us.  Noah spent over seven months on the ark with God when it came to rest while He prepared the ground.  Noah doesn't do anything unless God tells him to do it.  The great commissioning is the same, Jesus tells us to go out.   God prepares us in our lives and nothing happens until He tells us to go out.  Living your faith in the world and being authentic witness is what makes God's salvation plan multiply.  Nothing happens until God says go.  He calls each of us at the right time and up until that time He prepares you, you have a mission.  I love watching God at work, it is an amazing journey!

What is God saying to me:  Go, be fertile and multiply, the ground has been tilled, it is thirsty for authentic witnesses of My love. Go.

Dear Father God, You are faithful to us and know each of us intimately.  I love seeing what You are doing in our lives, how You are using each of us to play our part in repopulating the earth for what it was created for.  As long as we listen to You and respond, we will be safe.  Prayers for a friend that is lost in alcohol, may he be freed from this bondage to be an authentic witness to Your saving power.  Thank You Father for this day and may my life be a pleasing offering to You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-7 7-18-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"So they went into the ark to Noah, by twos of all flesh in which was the breath of life. Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the LORD closed it behind him." Genesis‬ ‭7:15-16‬

God saves!   Noah listened to the will of God and acted.  He took God for His word.  We all have the basic instinct to preserve our life, we will fight to survive.  God lays out the perfect plan for our salvation and yet some of us do not want to listen.  I am sure Noah tried to get others to see what he had been told but they took him for a crazy man, building an ark in the middle of nowhere.  Our own stories are written in the Bible, will we listen, will we accept His plan for salvation? Jesus.   Will we enter His ark, the choice is yours.  Be obedient to what God commands, there is consequences and God has proven that.  Get on the Ark before it starts raining.

What is God saying to me:  I save those that listen to me, I will cleanse them and give them a fresh start, the key is listening to Me.

Dear Father, I struggled this morning in our prayer time, I tried to rush it but You slowed me down.  I thank You for the breath of life.  Prayers for a friend that has lung cancer, breath new life into Him God.  Help each of us savor Your word and May Your Holy Spirit come upon us as we journey thru the book of Genesis.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-6 7-17-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God." Genesis‬ ‭6:8-9‬

During Noah's time what does God see?  "God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:12‬.  Is mankind any different today?  Does God see anything different.  The people then, face the same challenges we do.  Noah also faced evil but he understood how to overcome it.  Noah walked with God and he found favor in God's eyes, we too can walk with God.  God seeks to keep us alive forever, how do we hope to accomplish that if we do not walk with God now.  Noah listened and he was saved, God is speaking are you listening?

What is God saying to me: there is a war going on for the hearts and souls of men.  Look about you, that is not hard to see.  I am calling out, will you respond?

Dear Father God, there is a hunger in each of us to know You, fill that hunger.  Bring Your Gospel to life in our daily walk, shows us the corruption that is in our world and show us how to avoid it.  Thank You Father for an everlasting love that I have for You.  Thank You for filling my spirit with thoughts of You.  I look forward to the day because I know it will be an adventure.  Show the traps laid out for me and help me avoid them.  Prayers for a friend in need of work, give him clear direction for the right task for him.  In Your most Holy Name, Amen.

Genesis Ch-5 7-16-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and became the father of a son. Now he called his name Noah, saying, "This one will give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands arising from the ground which the LORD has cursed." Then Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years after he became the father of Noah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died." Genesis‬ ‭5:28-31‬

"And he died."  We all have to face our own mortality, for some we avoid the thought, others it gives them no bother.  Our ancestry makes up who we are but not who's we are.  We get to choose that path and our choices add to our heritage and will passed along.  The next generation is in your midst and are watching.  They see actions and how you live, this gets written into their DNA.  Noah did not become the man he was on his own, there are many generations before him and after.  Reading the lineages in scripture can seem mundane but these people are the heritage of Jesus and of you when you become adopted sons and daughters.

What is God saying to me: (God painted an image of a cup of hot water with a tea bag in it as I steeped in His Word.  It is penetrating my entire being. This is what happens when we are waiting on the Lord to reveal His truth.)

Dear Father, I thank You for the lesson today, to see many years of my family and how they passed on Your plan of salvation to the next generation.  May You never be forgotten within my family tree, may our actions always speak of You.  I thank You Father for the things You have laid out in front of us, give us courage to accomplish your mission and give us the grace of indifference in the outcome.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis Ch4 7-15-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"In the course of time Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the ground, while Abel, for his part, brought the fatty portion of the firstlings of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry and dejected." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:3-5‬

Does God withhold the fatty portions from us?  NO!  He does make us work for it but He does not withhold, we do.   You can see the hearts of both Cain and Abel in these verses.  Abel brings God the best of the best, He does not withhold from his Creator.  Cain on the other hand withholds his best fruit, this he saves for himself.  We do not know how things grow, what makes one produce more than the other but none of it grows without the help of God.  Do not withhold from God, if we do, God will withhold His favor from us.  "Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." ‭‭James‬ ‭1:17‬  God makes it all grow.

What is God saying to me: I see your heart, I see the need, I have more to give but you must continue on your journey.  Live in my peace.

Dear Father, if we are not careful we can become like Cain who's focus was self.  Protect us from being vain and not trusting in Your magnanimous Spirit.  You are the Giver of all good gifts and are seeking to pour them upon hearts that are open to You and which are giving of You.  Open us up to the possibilities of a deeper relationship with You and help us see how we withhold your favor.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

God calls to the man: "Where are you?"  Hiding from God and fear did not enter the world until we sinned.  An all knowing God, sees all, yet we hide thinking that we will not be found out.  Yet God comes looking for us, He doesn't let us continue to hide.  Facing one's fear is the only way to overcome them.  God is there to help, thru confession and a daily dialogue with Him.  It is something that we have to work at.  God's plan was for peace and unity, yet our sinful ways disrupts that plan.  In the words of Jesus: "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."" Luke‬ ‭10:27‬.  In doing what God tells us to do, our fears go away, our peace returns and we walk with God each day, just as He had planned.  Confession is key to the soul.

What is God saying to me: fear can not exist in my creation when doing My will.

Dear Father, help us see what Your will is for each of us.  Help us feel the love that You have and the concern You have when we are lost or in hiding.  Help us see how important confession is to reuniting Your creation to the body of Christ.  I pray that men answer the call and lead their families as You have intended.  I thank You for the women who are willing to be one with their husbands.  Thank You for breath in my lungs and a desire in my heart to know You.  This I ask in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Genesis Ch2 7-13-2019

"then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬

When do we start living, living the life that God has meant for us?  There are so many distractions do we take the time just to be in His presence.  This morning I focused on the breath of God.  Each breath I took in is from God, I felt it go past my nostrils into my body and then out again.  Trying doing that for 10 minutes and notice all the distractions, whether it is coming from within or outside.  God gives us dominion over our world and we must focus on our time with God.  The whispers He gives in the silence, the image He paints, reveals truth and gives us peace, the peace of God.

What is God saying to me: My will is being formed in you, there are many distractions that try to keep us apart.

Dear Father, I am thankful for the rest, for the peace that comes when we are face to face.  I am thankful for the lives that You are changing and making a difference in the world that You created for good.  Help us see the vision You had for Your creation and help us live that life above the distractions.  Thank You Father for those that are on missions and are heeding Your voice, may they not stress about the details, Your plans are always perfect as long as we stay out of the way.  Bless this day Father and may we not forget where our breath comes from.  Amen.

Genesis Ch. one 7-12-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then God said: Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good. God then separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." Evening came, and morning followed—the first day." Genesis‬ ‭1:3-5‬

"The beginning", without the scriptures we would not have a written plan of God's work.  In the first chapter of Genesis, you can see the love our Father has as He creates.  In separating the light, which is good, from the darkness, God shows us it can be separated.  The rest of the Bible speaks of this separation and what happens if we don't, how we can separate it and with the example of the Word(Jesus) it is possible for God's good creation, us.  "God looked at everything he had made, and found it very good. Evening came, and morning followed—the sixth day." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:31‬

Over the next 50 days, I will journey thru the book of Genesis one chapter a day and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to me and how it speaks to the present.  I encourage you to join along and take the same journey.  God reveals His truth in many mysterious ways but we must sit with Him if we are to gain wisdom and understanding.

What is God saying to me: My Word speaks for itself, ask My Holy Spirit to guide You, be open but also discern who's voice is speaking, it is not always Mine.

Dear Father, I am thankful for Your guidance and help, we all live in a busy world that seeks to cloud our minds and intermingle the darkness with the light of truth.  You are truth and our leading us thru creation to glorify You and bring us to eternal rest.  Watch over us Lord and send Your Holy Spirit to whisper to each of us what Your plan is.  I pray for my Protestant friends that we have been separated from, may we all see ways we are united in the light of Christ and not let the darkness interfere.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis 45:5 7-11-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But now do not be distressed, and do not be angry with yourselves for having sold me here. It was really for the sake of saving lives that God sent me here ahead of you." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭45:5‬

What man had intended for harm, God used it for good.  The book of Genesis is a fascinating read and if you read between the lines our own life stories are revealed.  Through all of this book, the hand of God is at play, there are those who walk with God and those that don't.  Yet thru it all God is faithful and speaks to His desire to reunite us with Him.  The journey is never easy but in your own stories God is weaving a great tale.  What one intended for bad, God will use for good, all we are asked to do is believe.  God is Great in many, many different ways.  I hope you see that.

What is God saying to me: I hear you.

Dear Father, I thank You for the message, I thank You for the desire, You are greater than all our situations and I praise You this morning.  Speak to us in the words of Genesis, help us see the pictures being weaved just as Abraham's and his family was.  Give me the words to use, paint the picture Father in the hearts that it is meant for.  I am blessed to be able to call You, Father and Savior.  May my actions always speak to that, lead us to truth.  In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.

Genesis 41:57 7-10-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Indeed, the whole world came to Egypt to Joseph to buy grain, for famine had gripped the whole world." Genesis‬ ‭41:57‬

God always provides the answer in our time of need!  I love watching God at work, to see Him orchestrate the best possible outcome.  The whole world came to Joesph in their time of need.  Do we not also go to Jesus in our time of need. The fascinating part of the story of Joesph is how God had already worked out the solution before the famine struct.  In our own lives, we do deal with different types of famine, are we paying attention to how God has already worked out the solution.  Or are we too busy to pay attention to what God is doing because we have plenty.  Never leave God out of the equation either in times of plenty or times of need.  We always turn to God in times of need, what about the times of plenty.  Watch God at work in your own life with different situations and be amazed, truly amazed!

What is God saying to me: you worry about many things, I am teaching you to trust, I know the outcome and you are to accept it, it is what is best.

Dear Father, I am thankful for the tremendous gifts that You provide and I am thankful for the things that You place upon my heart.  I may not always see them as gifts but I know they are.  I see You answering prayer in big and powerful ways, may I be Your humble servant only to do Your will.  Thank You Father for what lays ahead.  Prayers for those in desolation, may they see how, You Father, have already worked out the solution.   I pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.

Genesis 32:27-31 7-9-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"The man then said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob said, "I will not let you go until you bless me." "What is your name?" the man asked. He answered, "Jacob." Then the man said, "You shall no longer be named Jacob, but Israel, because you have contended with divine and human beings and have prevailed." Jacob then asked him, "Please tell me your name." He answered, "Why do you ask for my name?" With that, he blessed him. Jacob named the place Peniel, "because I have seen God face to face," he said, "yet my life has been spared."" Genesis‬ ‭32:27-31‬

I think in some ways we all wrestle with God and our own humanity.  Does St Paul not speak of this in Scripture: "For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. Now if [I] do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me."
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:19-20‬. In knowing that you are wrestling with God and self is the beginning of understanding.  God can not win this fight for you, it is you who must prevail with the flesh and blood of Jesus.  Even though God can't win it for us, He gives us His Son to lead the way.   It is He who spares your life, get to know Him.

What is God saying to me: I wrestle with many, it is when you die to self, than I raise up.

Dear Father, I thank You for waking this morning refreshed and ready for the day.  I thank You for listening and giving direction.  I ask for help today with the right people in the right places.  I ask for the ability to understand and choose the right path forward with a business decision.  I pray for a friend who is struggling, give him peace in the middle of the storm.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis 28:20-21 7-8-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jacob then made this vow: "If God will be with me and protect me on this journey I am making and give me food to eat and clothes to wear, and I come back safely to my father's house, the LORD will be my God." Genesis‬ ‭28:20-21‬

Why does Jacob say "if"?  He just awoke from a dream where God told him: "I am with you and will protect you wherever you go, and bring you back to this land. I will never leave you until I have done what I promised you." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭28:15‬.  God is definite in His words but Jacob has doubt.  Is it because Jacob deceived his father and took his brothers inheritance?  We allow sin in our lives to create doubt within us that God will do what He says.  His Covenant relationship with us will never be broken by Him, even in our doubts we must continue walking towards God.  You will see how much He loves you and seeks to protect you.  God's mission is to get you to Heaven, everything in between is just part of the journey.  Accept God at His word and let Him be your God!

What is God saying to me:  There are times that discomfort will be part of Your life, know that I am with You to see you thru to the other side.  Live in peace, even in the discomfort.

Dear Father, the journey thru the Bible teaches us of Your unfailing love You have for Your creation.  Help us overcome our own doubts and fears to receive You into our hearts.  You are on the inside guiding us to eternal life.  I take You at Your word, I hear You speak and I am doing my best to do what You ask.  Bless this day Father, help each of us on our own journeys, You are writing the stories.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 66:12b-13 7-7-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"You shall nurse, carried in her arms, cradled upon her knees; As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you; in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:12b-13‬

"Come Holy Spirit and overshadow me with Your gentle wisdom and power."  I know words won't do it justice but to walk each day and be given understanding by God is a grace that is available to each of us.  God seeks to give us many gifts but we must be open to them.  Just as a parent seeks for their children to grow and prosper, so does God seek the same for us.  The Holy Spirit, His Advocate is that teacher.  Live life always being observant, be super sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  As a mother cares for her child so does God care for you, rejoice.

What is God saying to me: My heart is available to all if they would pay attention to the promptings of My Holy Spirit.  You are never alone and each day is another opportunity to learn a lesson.   I am with You.

Dear Father, I am blessed in knowing You are with me all the day long.  Our time together never ends and You are always teaching.   I thank You for being by my side, in being in my thoughts and in being in my heart.  I thank You for coming when I ask and answering prayer in me.  Keep us safe as we travel today and may You always be in our thoughts.  Prayers for two special friends going thru some hardships may they be relieved of pain.   I ask this through the blood of Jesus, Amen.

Matthew 9:17 7-6-2019 www.dailythoughts.come cd

"People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved." Matthew‬ ‭9:17‬

Do we allow the Gospel to transform who we are?  Being rigid and not allowing the Word of God not change us is allowing the wine to spill out.  We can read the scripture but do we saver the taste of it?  Do we allow it to penetrate an open heart to receive what it is that God is telling us.  Preparing ourselves to be open to God's Word, allowing it to impact who we are and seeing the areas that God is seeking to transform us is preserving us for future hope and glory.  I do enjoy a good glass of wine but I prefer to soak in the word and enjoy the freshness it brings to the soul.

What is God saying to me:  You are open to My Word and you are chewing upon it, receiving what it is I desire to give you.

Dear Father, it has been a relaxing morning, soaking up the Son and enjoying Your company.  I thank You for cool breezes, the time spent together.  I thank You for the blessings of others who are open to receiving You and allowing You to pour the freshness of Christ into their hearts.  I see the change that new wine skins brings to those who have not always walked with You, including myself.   Bless this day and the time spent together as family.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Matthew 11:28 7-5-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

""Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬

I believe there is a misconception in the word rest, Jesus never lived on easy street.  Following Christ opens up a whole new world to us but the troubles of life do not go away.  Look at the circumstances as blessings from God for He allows them to happen.  He is giving each of us what is necessary for our own good.  Knowing God is in charge gives your soul comfort.  You know He is helping you on your pilgrimage.  There is rest in following Christ, there are holy insights to the joys of life even in the turmoil.  Relax and sing praise to your creator, He loves you that much.

What is God saying to me: Peace is at the center of your Christian walk.  I do not give you anything you can not handle.

Dear Father, my soul just wants to sing praise to you this morning.  I thank You for all the blessings in our lives.  I thank You God for the peace that resides in my heart.  I thank You for the wonderful Saints You put on our path.  I thank You Father this morning for the soul who is at rest even though he suffers.  He is a living example of a holy life.  Father I just want to say thank You for all the blessings and gifts You pour out upon us.  May we recognize the joy in following Your lead.  I ask this in the name above ever other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Genesis 22:1, 18 7-4-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Some time afterward, God put Abraham to the test and said to him: Abraham! "Here I am!" he replied.

and in your descendants all the nations of the earth will find blessing, because you obeyed my command."" Genesis‬ ‭22:1, 18‬

God puts each of us to the test, He gives us the freedom to choose.  As we go through life we get to face the outcome of those decisions and we realize that there are rules.    If we live by them our lives our much more productive, we are happier and life is more enjoyable.  Being obedient to God is living with true freedom in Christ.   He gives us commandments so we can live in peace and He allows us to choose.  Sooner or later we say, "here I am."  Because the outcome of bad decisions becomes to painful.

God pours out His blessings upon those who are faithful to Him.  The blessings of His peace, His love, of right choices, of gratitude, of humility, of strength, of courage, the list goes on and on.  Turn on the television and see a culture that is being told freedom is living without rules and guidelines, the outcome speaks for itself.  Be obedient and be blessed this day.  God has given you freedom, choose wisely.

What is God saying to me:  My Son died on a cross so You could be free from sin, follow His example and live forever.

Dear Father, I thank You for living in this great nation.  I pray for its leaders that you allow to rule us.  Give them a grateful heart, give them wisdom to see right and wrong.  Give them understanding and give them humility to know You are God.  I pray for all those trying to get here, may they see there is a right way and a wrong way, one offers freedom the other brings about pain.  Help our world see that choosing You is the only way to true freedom.  Thank You Father for the gift of family, bless this great nation and may we all honor God by being obedient.  In Jesus name, Amen.

God Bless the USA, May it not be tore apart by the evils of the devil.

Ephesians 2:19-22 7-3-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." Ephesians‬ ‭2:19-22‬

These verses stand by themselves and captures everyone.  It is God's love being poured out into the heart of man that draws us in to an unbelievable mystery, the heart of God.  We are either strangers/sojourners or pilgrims on that journey.  I once was that stranger who knew about God but did not know Him.  It is a mystery, an amazing journey that opens us up to the possibilities of God.  My prayer is that you recognize the journey you are on, I have faith in the Holy Spirit that He is drawing you in and my heart rejoices in knowing that Jesus is at work.  Little eyes are watching and they are the future, do not deny them the joy of Christ.

What is God saying to me: I lead the way, you listen and never doubt even when fear tries to creep in, I am with You.

Dear Father, what an amazing journey.  Many have gone before us who are in Your presence.  I thank You today for this journey we are on, I am not alone and am surrounded by many friends.  Lord, increase our joy and thankfulness for being given the mystery of Life.  I will praise You today in what ever is placed upon my path.  In the quiet of our hearts speak to us and in our tears help us see Your hand at work.  May we be joyous today and grateful for the gifts that you give.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Genesis 19:23-24 7-2-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"The sun had risen over the earth when Lot arrived in Zoar, and the LORD rained down sulfur upon Sodom and Gomorrah, fire from the LORD out of heaven." Genesis‬ ‭19:23-24‬

Can you see the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah the day before.  Life as normal, everyone going about their day as they usually do.  How many of us go about our day without a thought of God or even acknowledge Him?  Now the day of destruction, were the people of Sodom and Gomorrah crying out to God for help?  God always makes every effort to reach His people, did He not send Lot.  Lot did not make a dent in that city, there was not even 10 that He could find.  History will repeat itself, who is the one crying out in the wilderness in your life.  Are you paying attention or going about your life as normal ignoring the One who made you?

What is God saying to me: I save those who turn to Me.

Dear Lord, I pray for a young man struggling to grow up, help Him see the beauty of a relationship with You.  I also pray for someone lost in life going about it without You, help them see the peace that You bring when we walk with You.  I pray for a world that doubts Your existence, that fails to see the signs of hope, peace and joy.  Awakening them Father to a new world, with You at the helm.  I thank You Father for this day, be my guide, be my voice, be my strength.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis 18:32-33 7-1-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But he persisted: "Please, do not let my Lord be angry if I speak up this last time. What if ten are found there?" For the sake of the ten, he replied, I will not destroy it. The LORD departed as soon as he had finished speaking with Abraham, and Abraham returned home." Genesis‬ ‭18:32-33‬

Do we have the kind of persistence relationship that Abraham and God have?  To get the whole picture you should read Genesis 18:16-33.  There is a banter back and forth between two friends, they both know each other and respect each other.   Abraham was not afraid to go to God with his request and knew he was pushing God but was doing it for the right reason.  He has God's heart.  We can have that same relationship when we are persistent in our prayer life.  Being able to talk back and forth, being able to understand each other.  This type of relationship takes time, doesn't happen overnight and it is real.  In my opinion this is what God wants for each of us.  A persistent heart that goes to Him being willing to talk about anything.

What is God saying to me: listen, you know am I there.

Dear Lord, somedays I wonder why but know there is purpose in all of it.  I thank You for allowing me to be persistent even at times I don't have the desire.  You have written Your love on my heart and I am driven to seek You.  Open us up to the possibilities of Your love, help us see the injustice that goes on around us and may we be Your hands, Your eyes, Your voice in a world much like sodom and Gomorrah.  Abraham seen the same world we see and was willing to fight for it, may we be willing to pray and fight for it as well so all may come to know Your glory.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
