"People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved." Matthew 9:17
Do we allow the Gospel to transform who we are? Being rigid and not allowing the Word of God not change us is allowing the wine to spill out. We can read the scripture but do we saver the taste of it? Do we allow it to penetrate an open heart to receive what it is that God is telling us. Preparing ourselves to be open to God's Word, allowing it to impact who we are and seeing the areas that God is seeking to transform us is preserving us for future hope and glory. I do enjoy a good glass of wine but I prefer to soak in the word and enjoy the freshness it brings to the soul.
What is God saying to me: You are open to My Word and you are chewing upon it, receiving what it is I desire to give you.
Dear Father, it has been a relaxing morning, soaking up the Son and enjoying Your company. I thank You for cool breezes, the time spent together. I thank You for the blessings of others who are open to receiving You and allowing You to pour the freshness of Christ into their hearts. I see the change that new wine skins brings to those who have not always walked with You, including myself. Bless this day and the time spent together as family. In Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.
