"He urged them so strongly, however, that they turned aside to his place and entered his house. He prepared a banquet for them, baking unleavened bread, and they dined.
When he hesitated, the men, because of the LORD's compassion for him, seized his hand and the hands of his wife and his two daughters and led them to safety outside the city. As soon as they had brought them outside, they said: "Flee for your life! Do not look back or stop anywhere on the Plain. Flee to the hills at once, or you will be swept away." Genesis 19:3, 16-17
God saves. Lot was saved by the intercession of Abraham, the power of prayer. We live in a world that does not see the power of prayer, we live in a world that picks and chooses which of God's instructions they follow, justifying their actions and not fully realizing the consequences. Lot and his family were told not to look back, his wife looked back and was not saved. It is ironic that in today's readings Moses was writing down the Ten Commandments and some begin "Thou shall not". Just like the inhabitants of Sodomn, we get to choose our own path, God will send His angels to watch over us if we are obeying. Otherwise we will suffer the consequences unless we repent. The Sacrament of confession is a wonderful grace that we can receive and it is in God's Word. Be blessed today and do not look back, your salvation is in front of you, not behind.

What is God saying to me: I speak to Your heart and give you graces that are beyond your understanding. We are working in unison.
Dear God who saves, I thank You for another day to go into the world and live my life in Your presence. I ask that You use me this day to speak to someone that needs to know that You save and You give us instructions to follow. I am blessed to be able to have this time each day to ponder Your word and live it in my daily walk. I thank You for the angels that are watching over all Your faithful. May we be a pleasing offering in Your sight and may we reflect the light of Christ to those around us. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Mystical Rose, pray for us.
