Genesis 18:32-33 7-1-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But he persisted: "Please, do not let my Lord be angry if I speak up this last time. What if ten are found there?" For the sake of the ten, he replied, I will not destroy it. The LORD departed as soon as he had finished speaking with Abraham, and Abraham returned home." Genesis‬ ‭18:32-33‬

Do we have the kind of persistence relationship that Abraham and God have?  To get the whole picture you should read Genesis 18:16-33.  There is a banter back and forth between two friends, they both know each other and respect each other.   Abraham was not afraid to go to God with his request and knew he was pushing God but was doing it for the right reason.  He has God's heart.  We can have that same relationship when we are persistent in our prayer life.  Being able to talk back and forth, being able to understand each other.  This type of relationship takes time, doesn't happen overnight and it is real.  In my opinion this is what God wants for each of us.  A persistent heart that goes to Him being willing to talk about anything.

What is God saying to me: listen, you know am I there.

Dear Lord, somedays I wonder why but know there is purpose in all of it.  I thank You for allowing me to be persistent even at times I don't have the desire.  You have written Your love on my heart and I am driven to seek You.  Open us up to the possibilities of Your love, help us see the injustice that goes on around us and may we be Your hands, Your eyes, Your voice in a world much like sodom and Gomorrah.  Abraham seen the same world we see and was willing to fight for it, may we be willing to pray and fight for it as well so all may come to know Your glory.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
