Week 37 - The Journey
The Baptism of Jesus. "Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. John tried to prevent him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and yet you are coming to me?" Jesus said to him in reply, "Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed him. After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened [for him], and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove [and] coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." Matthew 3:13-17

Us. It was this one little word that grabbed my attention, Jesus's response back to John when he did not feel worthy. Us could be the Trinity but as I stood there and received God's word, it was the burning bush that spoke.
Can God save us without our full participation? John has fulfilled his mission and now Jesus and he were switching places. Jesus in complete public view receives our sin, He came before God the Father and pays the price for our redemption. John, fully participates in his own salvation.
Us, is our full acceptance of what God is asking, being willing to trade places with Jesus. Allowing Him to pay our price and in return we walking in Christ, through Christ and with Christ. Will we step out in faith as Jesus did? To fulfill all righteousness? John did and gives Jesus his rightful place within.
What is God saying to me? I speak from the burning bush, My words resound truth and even though it is two letters, it has meaning and purpose for all humanity.
Dear Father, we have lived this day, we have done our best, never perfect but being perfected. Thank You Father for those two letters, for the revelation of being able to hear Jesus speak into my soul. I must decrease and You must increase, give us the strength Your Son has, to live as You desire. Prayers for a friend who's spouse is in the hospital with pneumonia. You are faithful God in all things, heal their body so they continue building Your kingdom together. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
