Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice! Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you."  ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬, ‭9‬

Words of encouragement from a man who sits in prayer with and through God.  Sit with Paul as he writes his letter to the Philippians.  The pictures and memories God paints within his mind to share with other sojourners is a blessing to see.  Those that read his words and apply them to their lives are those to whom he is writing, the people of Philippi at that time and to each of us today.

Paul has received full forgiveness from God and has accepted his full share.  He knows he is the child of the King and he concerns himself about nothing other than what the King asks of him.  When he speaks of "me", it is Christ he is giving away.  It is Christ that validates his every action and it is Christ that loves him, through prayer,  through others and through situations.  Listen to your day, what do you hear God saying to you?  I hear: "the One who knows me best, is the One who loves me most!"

Dear Lord God, You are Love and we are to consider all things as a blessing.  Some our good blessings and some are the blessings of Christ suffering.  Help us recognize the love You have for us and the forgiveness that awaits as we journey with You in daily prayer.  Paul accepted his life and counted all things as glory for You.  Prayers for those seeking to fill the void with everything but You my God.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - the beginning.

Daily Thoughts - the beginning.

"Though I had said in my alarm, "I am cut off from your eyes." Yet you heard my voice, my cry for mercy, when I pleaded with you for help."‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31‬:‭23‬

"As they approached Jesus, they caught sight of the man who had been possessed by Legion, sitting there clothed and in his right mind. And they were seized with fear. Those who witnessed the incident explained to them what had happened to the possessed man and to the swine. Then they began to beg him to leave their district."  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭17‬

Contrast.  Which one are you in this story?  The man asking God for help or the one asking Him to leave.   Interestingly enough, God answers both of them with what they asked for.  The demoniac, in pain and suffering, cried out from the tombs and was healed.  He had nothing, his need could only be filled by God.  The towns people had their need in their creature comforts, food to eat, a warm home, they were comfortable.  God answered them as well by leaving.

He did leave behind the healed demoniac as a sign of His saving power.  God enters our life when we are ready, He does not force His way in.  He has the knowledge of knowing that what this world gives will not satisfy.  Have you asked God to leave you alone?  Maybe not in those words but we can all say we have in various ways, I know I can.  But, He always comes when we ask, keep in mind His answer to prayer can be hidden.  Be careful of what you reject that is placed in front of you, the towns people had rejected the Son of God.

Dear Father God, I sit in peace this morning enjoying the view, seeing the times I said yes and the times I said no.   I am thankful for Your persistence within my life so I could get to know You and witness Your saving power.  Help us see our salvation is not dependent upon things, possession or status but in the person of Jesus within daily prayer.  Bless this day and all it has to offer, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

"Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance; he went out, not knowing where he was to go."  Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬, ‭8‬

Faith.  Did Jesus have faith?  Interesting question isn't it.  Faith requires us to move beyond ourselves and not look at what we are possible of doing but seeing and trusting of what you and God can do.  Some of us have to know where we are going, we have to know all the details and weigh out the cost.  Is that faith?

That is not what God asks of us, to have it all figured out.  Would Abraham begin his journey knowing all the details, no.  He trusted in God to take care of all the details.  He was just to go, eye on the prize and follow the will of the Father each day.  We are to follow his example of faith and Go.  It is our own faith in God that saves us, the actions of trust, realizing the glory of what He is doing and trusting in Him for the outcome.  Go in faith, He doesn't call the perfect, He perfects the called.

Dear Heavenly Father, I see You at work in a world that is blind to what You are doing.   The evidence of Your existence in our lives is in front of us and yet some need to be reminded of how faithful You are to us, even in the painful events.  Prayers for a grace filled day moving in faith towards that glorious day.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

"He said, "This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how. Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear."  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬-‭28‬

Go!  Jesus teaches in parables, He tells us stories so that we may contemplate on them and realize God's purpose in our own lives.  I sat in a pew for many years, being sprinkled with the Gospels, in a sense being watered by God.  I went and listened but didn't really Go.  Then the day of great commissioning, God was asking something of me.

Each of us has a divine purpose, something that God has placed upon your heart for you to do.  He doesn't ask us to look at the results but to just do what He ask of us.  Each day nothing seems to be happening but He still asks the laborer each day to Go!  How it grows, why it grows and what it yields is for God to produce.  We are just to Go, in the act of going, it is the evidence of our faith in God, this is what saves us.  It isn't sitting in a pew being sprinkled, that only prepares us.

Dear Father God, the harvest is abundant and it seems as though the laborers are few.  Yet I know they are there listening and waiting on the command to Go.  Thank You for the gift of friendships that You have given within my days and the opportunities to share Your glory with others.  Keep us safe as we Go into the briar patch, tending the garden.  It is You that waters, it is us that scatters.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

"He said to them, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭2‬

The Master.  I sit and ponder the life that has been given, each day brings about new insights and new lessons.  It is the Master that knows what tomorrow brings, He knows what is needed and when.  His message today is one of trust, trusting in Him for tomorrow.

It is easy to fall into the trap of despair, doubt, pity, controlling, arrogance and pride.  But at the Masters feet, He already knows how it is to be resolved.  His love that He has for us goes beyond where we are at.  He will show us what the next step is, if we ask, if we give Him the best fruit of ourselves, even if we don't, He still knows.  Have a blessed day and never stop trusting in God, He is the Master and we are called to be His humble servants and ask.

Dear Lord God, Bless this morning with joy and a deep sense of purpose.  Thank You Father for answering our prayers with the abundance of your love.  You always know how to reach each of us that draws out the best.  Help us never forget that the answer is found at Your feet in the silence of prayer.  Prayers for a family that is experiencing loss, watch over them and keep them grounded in Your love.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

""I am a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city. At the feet of Gamaliel I was educated strictly in our ancestral law and was zealous for God, just as all of you are today. I persecuted this Way to death, binding both men and women and delivering them to prison." Acts‬ ‭22‬:‭3‬-‭4‬

Paul goes back to the beginning to tell his story, to speak to the error of his ways and to proclaim the saving power of God.  At this stage in life he has vision, vision of the past with knowledge and understanding and vision of the future through the perfect will of God.

"It is My will that I seek in you, be at peace and give Me praise."  These words come back from a prayer a wrote a couple of years ago as I sit in prayer this morning watching Paul live out his faith.  God's timing is always perfect, His will is what is best for us and He loves us beyond measure.  The hardships are part of the journey in learning to trust in His perfect will.

Paul has hindsight in his story, he has/is being perfected by the Fathers perfect will.  In prayer, along with quiet contemplation, God speaks into our hearts and we understand what must be done in this moment.  Each builds upon another and His will is revealed.  Be blessed by His Holy Spirit, He heard and He answered.

Dear Father, what a blessing to sit at Your feet daily and witness Your healing touch.  Within Your perfect will is peace for we are truly within the covenant relationship and it is not a one sided commitment.  Thank You Father for the continued growth and opportunities to share Your glory within our day.  Give us vision into Your perfect will and bless us with peace when we are in cooperation.  Prayers for a friend being challenged with difficult choices.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"But he said to them in reply, "Who are my mother and [my] brothers?" And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. [For] whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.""  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭33‬-‭35‬

Living beyond the boundaries placed upon us by our world.  Within the circle with Christ lies an entirely new world that awaits those who respond to voice of God.  The things He will show you when you decide to sit within the circle, listen and respond.

In these moments He asks us to go into the unknown, it can be a scary decision but what I have come to know.  You are not going alone, He has prepared you for the journey.  In time, He answers all the questions and doubts.  A new life awaits those willing to respond.  Enjoy your day, listen to that small quiet whisper that asks: will you follow Me?

Dear Lord God, what a beautiful day to continue to be loved and to love.  I thank You for ears to hear and eyes to see and the willingness to trust Your infinite wisdom.  Help us see Your hand at work in our lives, help us see the joy that awaits when within the circle we respond with: here I am Lord, I come to do Your will.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The beginning.

"but now made manifest through the appearance of our savior Christ Jesus, who destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,".  ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬

How do we act when we come into Jesus's presence?  It can be overwhelming to come before God, one who sees body, mind and soul.  Yet there is the understanding that God is love and He looks upon us with love, Love within our affliction.

Seeing God at work thru scriptures reveals who He is, not who we think He is or isn't.  Just like in a relationship, our knowledge and love of the other grows the more time we spend together.  Son of the Living God, have mercy upon me a sinner and He does.  Casting out unclean spirits unto the point we begin to see God at work.

Today we will have many opportunities to witness to His healing power.  Ask and you shall receive, it is His promise to us.   ""Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬

Dear Lord God, I witness and witnessed Your healing power within the world and my life.  I sit in awe as You speak into the heart and I learn from You.  It is written down within Your Word what happens when we follow You.  I thank You for this day and what You are bringing about.  Prayers for a friend trying to figure it out may the Son of the Living God dwell within Him.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the living God."  ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭14‬

"Worship the living God."  What is the transformation in your life after being washed by the blood of Christ.  Who we worship is the evidence.  Cleansing of our conscience is our actions as we sit with God in prayer worshipping Him with our time.

God sees the heart and reaches from behind the veil to reach it.  The story of the blind man from birth in John 9 reveals the truth in how we are to worship God in our afflictions.  "Jesus said to him, "You have seen him and the one speaking with you is he.""  ‭‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭37‬.  The blind man had seen Jesus in his prayer while he was still blind.

Cleansing our conscience isn't one and done, it is a life long process until we get to the other side of the veil.  The living God walks with us, teaches us, reveals Himself to us.  It begins within scripture and then He transforms the words into events you have experienced.  Give it time and just praise Him.

Dear Lord, I praise You this morning for what is going on.  I thank You for the blessings that are yet to be revealed.  As You know there is a lot going on but within all of this, there is peace for it is You orchestrating my life and my soul.  Continue washing my interior life.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

"Love and truth will meet; justice and peace will kiss."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭85‬:‭11‬

I witness the healing power of God this morning through Jesus.  I see the pain of sin(truth) and how that impacts my life.  I feel the loving touch of God when I seek Him out.  When I lay down my pride and ego, letting go of self and reaching out to God.

This happened several years ago in prayer one morning.  God revealed an event in my life that had shaped who I thought I was.  In that moment, God gave me the sight to see the event as an adult.  And in an epiphany, with Godly understanding, justice and peace kissed.

Sounds kinda of cryptic but it was the beginning of new life in Christ.  The healing power of God allows us to forgive ourselves, come to know that we are loved by our Creator, He is experienced in our lives.  Remember, He has risen, He knows all.  "your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction."" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭34‬b.  It is us cooperating with God.

Dear Lord God, I see the need for us to reach out to You in our pain.  To trust in You to help us with what ever affliction that holds us back.  I see and have experienced the new life that comes about from Your healing touch.  Help us be patient within this encounter and allow time to bring about the changes that You desire, not what I desire.  The struggle is real and You are well aware of the process and the destination.  Praise God for Your healing touch, Amen.

"He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him. And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, "You are the Son of God.""  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭11‬

I sit this morning and experience Jesus as He, the Son of God, heals those that have come to Him.  I see this mystical light surrounding Him, and I see the hearts of His children coming to be touched by Jesus.  I see lives transformed and it is good.  Just being in His presence is a healing experience.

Prayer can be so real when we take the hand of Jesus and walk with Him daily.  When we invite Him into our lives and bare our souls to Him.  "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?"  ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬.
Those that had pressed in on Jesus, sought Him out, they went to Him to be healed.  Two thousand plus years later, we too can go to the seaside and press in on Jesus and experience the love of God.  There is something special that words can not describe when you are with Him.  Enjoy your day.

Dear Lord God, I see the Gospels play out in daily activities, I see your healing touch.  You cleansed the temple from the inside, remove what is not of God from Your holy temple.  Bless this day and all the things and situations You are bringing about to build up Your Church.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"He went around all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and illness among the people."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬

Reading the stories of Jesus this morning within the Bible.  What strikes me this morning is the cry of the poor and the response of God.  He sent His son to respond to their call, to bring about healing and peace within their lives.

Jesus wrote, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, not in words but in His response to the voice of His Father that played out in His day.  Did Jesus know the encounters He would have before they happened?  No I don't think He did as True God and True Man.  But He did hear the cry of the poor and lived the Gospel message.

What does your day have in store for you?  What part of the Gospel message will you be?  Will it be one of bringing the good news or one of receiving the good news or the one of hardening of the heart.  God hears the cry of the poor and He sends Christ to them.  Listen to what God asks of you in your gospel message.  Your story is written down within the Bible.

Dear Father, we sit and enjoy each others company this morning.  You take a jumble of ideas and pictures and bring about Your message within my soul.  I see the gospel message being played out each day, I see it not as written word but in the lives of Your children.  Help us hear what You are asking of each of us and may we be docile and submissive to Your wisdom and guidance within the days You give us.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"This we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil, where Jesus has entered on our behalf as forerunner, becoming high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."  ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬

The humanity of Christ, He is one of us, walked where we walk.  I watch Jesus as He freely forgives, no condemnation, no fault, no bitterness, just pure love.  Giving to a soul willing to receive.  "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven.""  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬.  Jesus did this as a man, yes He is God but this was as a man.

Jesus as a man, reached behind the veil in His prayer life.  He and the Father encountered each other in prayer.  The love He was giving was the love that He received, as a man, through prayer.  Within prayer there is the opportunity to experience God and hear these words.  There is also the opportunity to realize the humanity of Christ within our daily lives and practice what He preaches.  One must be ready to receive what He gives.

Dear Father, each day is a lesson to be learned for souls that are awake.  There is also the opportunity to give what You give; love.  You recognize my humanity with its flawed human weaknesses yet You love me despite myself and continue to refine.  Thank You Father for the gift of Your Son and His healing power that operates within each of Your children.  Praise be to God, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"In the days when he was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and when he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,".  ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭9‬

I look to Jesus this morning, the Great High Priest and we sit.  He walked where I walked, He dealt with what I deal with but much much more.  We can learn from Him if we are willing to sit and listen.  If we will humble ourselves and put ourselves in a place of reverence and respect for God in our lives.

"Physician, cure yourself", quoted in Luke 4:23, comes to mind.  The Great Miracle Worker walks amongst us and we too proud to seek His help.  A wise man learns from others who have gone before him, if he wants what they have.  Jesus, as Son of Man, has conquered death, He has overcome this world.  It stands to reason, He and He alone can teach us.

Have you suffered enough to learn to listen to God?

Dear Father God, I am blessed this morning to see You at work with a sinner.  One that is seeking You as best as he can.  I thank You for the love that You are showing and the glory awaits those who are being called.  I thank You for trusting You in all situations, even when they seem distant and far off, You are God and I am not.  Bless this day and all it has to offer, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning

"Indeed, the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart."  ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬.  "Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors and said to his disciples, "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?" Jesus heard this and said to them [that], "Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners."  Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬-‭17‬

Do you dine with Jesus?  Our bodies require food, without it, it will not function the way it was designed.  As I sat with Jesus this morning, as I cooked breakfast.  I listened to what He was saying.  The invitation is available for all of us to hear and respond, and like any good host, He gives us the choice to respond.

As a sinner, seeking the heart of God, I am drawn to the dinner table.  The Word of God is the food, it is my soul that it is penetrating.   It is easy to sit back and pass judgement on another but God sees the heart, He knows what is needed.  Without God in our daily life, we will not function properly.  It may appear to be working in the ways of the world but can I physician cure himself if he is blinded by his own judgement.

Breakfast was good, both spiritual and physical food to feed body, mind and soul.

Dear Father, it is another beautiful morning that begins with the breath of life and the gift of knowing Who provides it.  Thank You Father for calling the sinner to the table to dine with You.  In this relationship You are refining the heart to see.  Bless this day and the memories it has to hold, may it bring You joy.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven." Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves, "Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?" Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so he said, "Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?"  Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭8‬

God knows the heart.  As I sit and watch Jesus this morning face His day.  I see the faith of the paralytic man and his friends, I see their desire to help their friend and the acceptance by the friend.  I see the prejudice within the hearts of the scribes, condemning Jesus for what He was doing, they were not witnesses to the healing power of God.

I look within the Son of Man, True God and True man.  He sees all their hearts and not only does He want to heal the paralytic, He wants to heal the scribes.  The pain He must of felt knowing that they do not see the perfect creation His Father created.

I look within my day and see the same events unfold in various ways.  I see the judgement that is placed upon another and I see the love that is within another's heart.  Healing comes in many forms when we look with the knowledge that God's creation is perfectly made.  We have to overcome our own prejudices to bring the light of Christ to another as you are being persecuted without judgement.  Have a blessed day walking with Him.

Dear Father God, the lessons that unfold if we are willing to listen.  If we are willing to learn from what you are saying within scripture.  The words go much deeper that what is being said.  I pray for the heart of man, that we see Your perfect creation and the power of Your healing touch.  May others walk as He did.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"Therefore, as the holy Spirit says: "Oh, that today you would hear his voice, Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God. Encourage yourselves daily while it is still "today," so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin."  ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬, ‭12‬-‭13‬

The word of God tell us to daily stay engaged in our relationship with Him.  He warns us the consequences of not spending time daily in prayer.  The encouragement is from above, sin is from below, one leads us higher and closer to God, the other removes God from our lives until we become so separated from Him, it takes an act of His mercy.

Listen to what He speaks to us within scripture then go and live out your day with Him.  Prayer comes in many forms, the simplest one is a smile recognizing His creation within the beauty of another, even if they are outcast from society.  Have a blessed day!

Dear Lord God, thank you for this morning and the opportunity to be with You in prayer.  Thank You for the gift of another as they give themselves away and carry the cross that has been laid on their back.  You prepare the heart for the mission.  Prayers for a friend growing and learning, continue His journey that will accomplish Your mission for him and his family.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
