Daily Thoughts - The celebration of Christmas.

Daily Thoughts - The celebration of Christmas.

"No one who is begotten by God commits sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot sin because he is begotten by God. In this way, the children of God and the children of the devil are made plain; no one who fails to act in righteousness belongs to God, nor anyone who does not love his brother."  ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬-‭10‬

"No one who is begotten by God commits sin,", well that isn't me, I sin far too often.  Jesus never sinned though He was tempted many times by the devil, some times directly, and other times indirectly.  Matthew 4:1-11.  I can not be begotten, as hard as I try won't happen.  Within the Nicene Creed it clearly states this fact.  I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.

So what is John telling us in this verse, that's really my question.  Jesus is the only begotten Son, it is through Him we are saved.  He begets us through His Word, through us sitting together and having a conversation.  David slayed Goliath and became somebody, he forgot his anointing and strayed from God.  Jesus, our Triune God, begot him back through the bread of life after he sought repentance and was sorry for his sins.

It is a journey, a marathon not a sprint.  Keep this in mind as Jesus begets you in His word.  He has all the answers when we learn to listen to Him.  "Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come, and you will see." John‬ ‭1‬:‭38‬-‭39‬A

Dear Father, I ask and You answer, it is like You are turning the pages as You help me understand.  I thank You for the desire to follow, to come and see.  Prayers for a fruitful day, for a day filled with trust.  Thank You Father for walking with me in this journey of life as Your Son begets me, Amen.
