Daily Thoughts - the beginning.

Daily Thoughts - the beginning.

"Though I had said in my alarm, "I am cut off from your eyes." Yet you heard my voice, my cry for mercy, when I pleaded with you for help."‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31‬:‭23‬

"As they approached Jesus, they caught sight of the man who had been possessed by Legion, sitting there clothed and in his right mind. And they were seized with fear. Those who witnessed the incident explained to them what had happened to the possessed man and to the swine. Then they began to beg him to leave their district."  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬-‭17‬

Contrast.  Which one are you in this story?  The man asking God for help or the one asking Him to leave.   Interestingly enough, God answers both of them with what they asked for.  The demoniac, in pain and suffering, cried out from the tombs and was healed.  He had nothing, his need could only be filled by God.  The towns people had their need in their creature comforts, food to eat, a warm home, they were comfortable.  God answered them as well by leaving.

He did leave behind the healed demoniac as a sign of His saving power.  God enters our life when we are ready, He does not force His way in.  He has the knowledge of knowing that what this world gives will not satisfy.  Have you asked God to leave you alone?  Maybe not in those words but we can all say we have in various ways, I know I can.  But, He always comes when we ask, keep in mind His answer to prayer can be hidden.  Be careful of what you reject that is placed in front of you, the towns people had rejected the Son of God.

Dear Father God, I sit in peace this morning enjoying the view, seeing the times I said yes and the times I said no.   I am thankful for Your persistence within my life so I could get to know You and witness Your saving power.  Help us see our salvation is not dependent upon things, possession or status but in the person of Jesus within daily prayer.  Bless this day and all it has to offer, Amen.
