Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.

"The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes. In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit; he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!"" Mark 1:22-24
The authority of God does not go unnoticed when we come into His presence. Do we submit ourselves to His authority? It is the unclean spirit that acknowledges the Holy of One of God. And Jesus commands it to be quiet and come out of him. Not only does it acknowledge God, it obeys God by doing what He tells him. Do we obey God when He commands us?
Sitting in the synagogue and watching this transpire gives meaning to the scene. They are no longer words but actual life being retold in a story. The man possessed has seen a great light and has been given new life. His world has been transformed. Sit with Christ in scripture and let Him teach, He has the power to save.
Dear Father, You always provide, it is like mana from Heaven when You speak. May we recognize the gifts that You are giving for building up the body of Christ. Prayers for a family that lost a husband and father at an early age, he lived a full life, may he rest in Peace within the authority of God. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
