Daily Thoughts - I begin.
"And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son; listen to him."" Mark 9:7
Have you ever contemplated the beginning of Jesus's public ministry? The divinity of God was not revealed publicly until Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit and announced by His Father in Heaven. God the Father announces His Son, the Son of Man.
In our own journeys, it is God voice that speaks to us. I can only speak from experience as I did not recognize His voice until I encountered Jesus in the flesh. That moment in time when God became flesh and bones. That isn't to say that God wasn't speaking prior to that but as a child, I had yet to recognize Him.
Dear Father, I sit and quiet my senses, steal away from the world and quiet myself. In these moments, You remind me of the gift of that anointing, that moment in time. You remind me of Your reality, in the flesh when I began the journey together. Bless this day Father, help us see the gift of quieting our senses, to sit still in the solitude surrounded by the world seeking our souls only to find You. Amen.
