Daily Thoughts - The celebration of Christmas

Daily Thoughts - The celebration of Christmas

"But Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him.""  ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭46‬-‭47‬

The gift of Jesus in our lives.  Sitting with scripture reveals life and truth to you.  If we sit and listen with the heart, there is way more going in within scriptures and the beauty of what the Church gives us each day.   God knows the heart, He can see right thru us.  Jesus demonstrates this with the comment he made about Nathanel.   Nathanel was drawn to Christ because he knew Him, he had a relationship with God.

"in whatever our hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if [our] hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence in God"  ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬.  As you sit and listen God speaks to the heart and refines it, a little each day.  Jesus, second person of the Trinity, knows Nathaniel's heart.

We may not realize this but if you have love in your heart for God, you like Jesus, are being scourged at the pillar.  Not in the physical sense but in the daily trappings of life.  It is our sin that is being removed.  God speaks, I listen.

Dear Father, You see what I don't and reveal this to us as we sit with You within Your word.  It is You that is forming me into the man that has purity of heart.  And we both know there is a good way to go.  Bless this day Lord, help me pace myself and my expectations.  Prayers for those traveling this day, may their journey be filled with life changing experiences.  (Friends going to the Holy Land). I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
