Daily Thoughts - Make God Known. The Feast of the Transfiguration.

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.  The Feast of the Transfiguration.

2757 "Pray constantly" (1 Thess 5:17). It is always possible to pray. It is even a vital necessity. Prayer and Christian life are inseparable.

Prayer is a vital part of our everyday lives.   Within prayer lies the grace of God, it is He that gives us insights into His creation.  The intellect He has given, the tasks of the day that we choose all forms who we are.  Life is prayer if we engage God within, He will illuminate the way by helping us choose our path.  Sometimes the pain of poor choices can be a powerful prayer when we recognize the void of God.  In prayer, within the stillness, God speaks to our heart with memories and thoughts, with the Word that He has written.  Pray constantly!

I watch Peter this morning recall His trip up the mountain, how he had taken Jesus for granted, taken His strength for granted.  Now many years later he writes about this journey in words that have deep meaning.  The prayer of that day on top of the mountain has accomplished what God desired.  Each day we live brings about opportunity for God to teach, be always attentive to His voice.

"THIS IS my beloved Son."  We hear Jesus speaks the same words during the consecration of the Holy Mass.  "THIS IS My body", "THIS IS My blood".  Are we taking Jesus for granted as Peter did going up the mountain?  Or do we see the Risen Lord active in our lives?  "Rise, do not be afraid."

2 Peter 1:16-9 and Matthew 17:1-9.  Watch Peter's journey from two viewpoints.

Dear Father, I hear You speak in my day, I see the mountains that we climb and the days I climb by myself.  I am thankful that You are always there with words of encouragement, with words of hope.  My I always be attentive to what it is You are teaching within my day.  Prayers for a friend with many gods, may we all recognize who has power in our lives.  Love Your son.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
