Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

2755 Two frequent temptations threaten prayer: lack of faith and acedia - a form of depression stemming from lax ascetical practice that leads to discouragement.

You ever get stuck in a place and for what ever reason you can't move forward.  What you desire is to move but it doesn't seem to be working.  There is nothing wrong with being stuck, having to sit still and wait on God.  He is God, I am not.  In these moments of our lives, we are not to fall away from our spiritual practices even though we seem to be receiving nothing when in fact we are receiving everything.  The journey thru the desert can be a very dry long walk but that's where Faith gets built and a true reliance upon God and not self.

The Israelites got stuck as well, when God decided to stay in one spot they could not move until God was ready to move.  These is His message in todays first reading.  We always want to see or feel progress and sometimes that takes a different level of faith.  It is an understanding of what ever situation you are dealing with, God will resolve.  Sitting still and just being in His presence helps us come to know that He is God and we are not.  He will not be denied when He moves but will we still be following or will we have been left behind because of discouragement of having to wait upon the Lord.  Knowing He is there is proof enough and our reliance is upon Him and not the spiritual fruits.

Dear Father God, You amaze me when we sit and I bring a situation to You.  You share the life of Your Son as He traveled this planet seeking the lost and lonely, His journey is one of faith, not blind faith but one that He and You are one.  Continue to reveal Yourself to us as we cross this barren land to the promised land and may we never loose sight of You.  Prayers for a friend with scales on his eyes, may You do what is best and may He come to know Your Living Presence.  Love Your son.
