Daily Thoughts - Make God Known

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known

2753 In the battle of prayer we must confront erroneous conceptions of prayer, various currents of thought, and our own experience of failure. We must respond with humility, trust, and perseverance to these temptations which cast doubt on the usefulness or even the possibility of prayer.

It is a battle.  How many of us go to the tent of meeting, as Moses did, and let another speak on our behalf as Moses did for the Israelites.   How many of us are satisfied with not even praying on a regular basis? None are ever satisfied if they do not pray.  Prayer is literally sitting face to face with God and having a conversation.  It is making time to present with God and His door is always open.  The battle is with ourselves to do it.  The battle is to begin and just start each day with God being the first fruits of your day.

In todays Gospel reading Jesus explains the parable of the sower and the field.  We are in the field - the world, the word is the seed, He is the seed grower.  Within prayer we become nurtured and cared for like a precious pearl.  God infuses His will with our will, the relationship becomes real not that it wasn't real but we recognize His voice in our lives as He speaks.  If we don't pray regularly then the weeds of this world influences our decisions and we do the bidding for another not even realizing it.   Prayer is effective, how do I know, just as Jesus knows, there is fruit on the tree.

Todays readings, God is casting a wide net with what He gives us each day from Holy Mother Church https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/080123.cfm

Dear Father God, there is such depth to Your love within our lives when we are in faithful daily prayer.  The son shines brighter, the challenges of the day are non-threatening, hope is ever bounding for You are always by our sides.  Bless this day with an over whelming desire to pray, to listen to the stillness and know that even though it looks like nothing is happening, You are bringing about Good fruit within the field.  Prayers for a friend that is learning how to pray, the lack of prayer is revealing the desolation of this world in their life.  Speak Lord, Your servant is listening.  Love Your son.

Mary, Mother of Love, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
