Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.
1211 Following this analogy, the first chapter will expound the three sacraments of Christian initiation; the second, the sacraments of healing; and the third, the sacraments at the service of communion and the mission of the faithful. This order, while not the only one possible, does allow one to see that the sacraments form an organic whole in which each particular sacrament has its own vital place. In this organic whole, the Eucharist occupies a unique place as the "Sacrament of sacraments": "all the other sacraments are ordered to it as to their end."2
Jesus. The soul, source and Summit of the Catholic faith is Jesus. It begins with Him and ends with. Each of the Sacraments given by God have a definite purpose and that is to glorify the body of Christ. To give each of its members much needed food on the journey to the promised land. The Sacraments bring about a transformation that is at the direction of God along with our full cooperation. Jesus in His own trials never wavered from His path to teach us their importance by His life and His living example.

We can choose to listen to Him or not, He is the source. In our readings today, God gives the Israelites direction and an opportunity to enter the promised land. In their humanness they are overwhelmed by what they fear and grumble against God, for this they paid for another trip around the desert. No more direct path.
The woman with the tormented daughter never wavered in her desire for God in the Gospel reading. . She did not let what appeared to be insults deter her from what she knew to be true. In what seemed like rejection her focus was still on God. Jesus knew that she would not be denied healing for her daughter. She was with God and nothing would stop even His attempts to distract, they were really meant as a test of her faith.
Faith does not come easily, one must overcome self and as we learn to focus everything on Jesus we as well will not be deterred nor will we wander in the desert any longer for Jesus is the source of all life.
Dear Father, we enter another day filled with heat and another opportunity to become focused. You are the source of all life, give us the faith of the women who would not be deterred. I thank You for the understanding, for the grace You provide, may I not focus on the apparent but trust in You to bring about Your desired result. Prayers of thanksgiving for a job well done, You are building a bridge for the future of Holy Mother Church. Love Your son.
Mary, Mother of Mercy, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
