I. CONFIRMATION IN THE ECONOMY OF SALVATION
1286 In the Old Testament the prophets announced that the Spirit of the Lord would rest on the hoped-for Messiah for his saving mission.91 The descent of the Holy Spirit on Jesus at his baptism by John was the sign that this was he who was to come, the Messiah, the Son of God.92 He was conceived of the Holy Spirit; his whole life and his whole mission are carried out in total communion with the Holy Spirit whom the Father gives him "without measure."93
Trustworthy. "I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth, so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings." Luke 16:9. These are Jesus's words to His listeners, is He telling us to be corrupted by the dishonest wealth. One without much understanding could definitely think that and become dishonest themselves.
"You are the Salt of the earth". Matthew 5:13a. We are not to be transformed by the world we live in but to transform the world with the light of Christ. The disciples were not by name only, they went into the world and transformed it with a little measure of yeast, the Holy Spirit. Being religious does not make us holy, the Pharisees and Scribes were religious but had been transformed by the world.
Being trustworthy, is taking what has been given and returning it better that it was given. Contemplate your own journey, what is God telling you?
Come Holy Spirit and renew the face of the earth, enliven our hearts to glorify You in all that we do, all that we speak so that on that day of our judgement we may be called good and faithful servants. May we all be trustworthy with the gifts that have been given and they are not taken for granted nor expected. Love Your son.
Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
