"Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it." Matthew 13:17
A prophet foretells of a future event, the scribes and Pharisees considered themselves righteous. What they both longed to see was the coming of the Messiah. Jesus is who they longed to see and hear and the righteous didn't know Him when He was in their midst. Simeon did, He knew Jesus the minute he seen Him. ""Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.""
Luke 2:29-32. Do you know the Light of the world. Do you spend time with Him. Do you speak with Him. He will speak with you if you spend time with Him. He knows all even your troubles, why not seek His counsel, that is why He came into the world, to bring peace into our hearts.
Dear Heavenly Father, I long for You in the day, I enjoy the moments when I seek You out and I feel empty when I neglect You. Thank You for giving us, Your Son. May I grow stronger each passing day, by getting to know Your covenant family. May others come to know You, see You and hear You through my actions. The peace You give is an everlasting peace that satisfies. May You continue to fill each of us with Your holy will, Amen.
