Daily Thoughts 7-7-2017 Matthew 9:13

"Go and learn the meaning of the words, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." Matthew‬ ‭9:13‬

"I desire mercy not sacrifice", for the longest time, I would sacrifice my time on Sunday morning and offer it to God, I was being a good Christian or at least I thought I was.  The difference is in the attitude of the person.  Mercy is lived every day, it is a way of life.  Do you look upon others with compassion?  Do you see the good in them even when they cause you pain.  Are you able to forgive someone who has harmed you?  Jesus always has mercy for us, He gave of Himself so we could live forever and it was painful for Him.  That is mercy and true sacrifice.  Can I lay down my pride, my ego, my desires and forgive as my Father does for me every day?  I will by the grace of God and His help.

Dear Lord, You give us opportunities every day to learn the difference between mercy and sacrifice.  Show me how to be more compassionate with those around me.  Help me give of myself where it is not a sacrifice but it is the love I have for you that motivates me.  Bless this day so it will glorify You in all that I do.  Thank You Lord for Your Holy Spirit, please give us more of You.  I ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Mary, Queen of Apostles, pray for us.
