Daily Thoughts 7-20-2017 Exodus 25:30

"Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times." Exodus‬ ‭25:30‬

At the center of our faith is Jesus Christ and the Triune God.  From the beginning God lead His people to follow Him.  And He always gave us food for the journey and traditions.  It was the customs and traditions that got past down from generation to generation.  He has never stopped doing this.  His living presence is before us all the time in the Eucharist.  Jesus is the Pascal Lamb, who was slaughtered for our sins.  He is the one who saves.  The Passover meal was a celebration done in the remembrance of the Israelites exodus.  The lamb had to be consumed, all of it and blood put on the door posts.  Jesus tells us at His last supper to do this in remembrance of Me.  "and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:24-25‬.  His living presence is the Eucharist, we are to consume Him, body and blood.  Do you place His blood over the door posts of your heart?   Doing so puts the bread of the Presence before me at all times.

Dear Heavenly Father, we get stuck in our ways and sometimes we need a wake up call.  You died on a cross for my sins, I am not to receive you lightly or half-hearted.  Inspire my spirit to continue to grow and learn.  Increase my understanding of Your Pascal Mystery.  Be with me today wherever I go.  You are the great I AM, who leads His people.  Bless this day, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Suffering, pray for us.
