Numbers 26:1-2 - God’s army

"the LORD said to Moses and Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest: Take a census, by ancestral houses, throughout the community of the Israelites of all those of twenty years or more who are eligible for military service in Israel." ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭26:1-2‬

God's Army.  God is instructing Moses and Moses's nephew to take a census.  It has been thirty eight years since the last census, right before they enter the promised land.  All those that worshiped the golden calf have passed away and the next generation is to receive God's blessings.  "God said", Arron has passed on his knowledge of listening to God, he has prepared his son.  Moses has been working with God's people preparing them for the future, no more golden calf's, just the presence of God.  Are you counted in God's army?  It is a spiritual army, time spent being instructed by the Holy Spirit.  Jesus was part of His census when Mary and Joesph went for the census in Bethlehem.   The war is a spiritual war and the battle is won, on your knees, in prayer and by hearing God speak.   Be counted in Jerusalem and be called holy.

What is God saying to me: Are you ready?

Dear Father, that is a great question and we both know the answer to that, I need my battle armor fortified with additional prayer.  At every step the devil is looking to slow us down and get in the way.  It is subtle things and does not go unnoticed in my world.  You are preparing me and I trust in You as we increase my fortification.  I thank You for the words of encouragement this morning and the direction.  Prayers for an elderly couple facing some challenges, prepare them for the spiritual battle and give their family strength in prayer, You are the Great Healer and can do mighty things.  Come Lord Jesus and rescue Your people, You see all even the battle, make each of us battle ready.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
