"These are the offerings you will make to the LORD on your festivals, besides your votive or voluntary offerings of burnt offerings, grain offerings, libations, and communion offerings." Numbers 29:39
Sacrifice - The Jewish new year was in the seventh month or September for us today. It was a month of holy days beginning with day one. During this month they would offer up to God a pleasing aroma of 73 bulls, 17 rams, 189 yearling lambs and 10 goats. The amount of effort for these sacrifices was immense but this was their way of life. Imagine you are the herdsmen or one of the temple Levite's, your personal sacrifice was great, it was a busy month. We too have holy days where we are to worship and honor God, do we or is life just too busy. What do we sacrifice in our own lives to God? Everything that we have is from Him. The Israelites knew that God would provide for their holy days, He would give them what they needed to worship at the temple. The same is true today, God will provide if we will be faithful to Him.

What is God saying to me: "Go and learn the meaning of the words, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' I did not come to call the righteous but sinners." Matthew 9:13
Dear Father, You stir my heart this morning and make me think. I thank You for rooting out what the issue is and helping me understand, there is much to learn and apply in my life. Father, teach me your ways so I may honor You more fully yet be in the world as a pleasing offering. Prayers today for all that are concerned about the weather, help us recognize that You are in control there is nothing to be concerned about for You are a loving God. Thank You Father for this day and for the plans that You have put into motion, may they glorify You and Your Kingdom as they draw others home. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
