Numbers 30 - Authority

Numbers Chapter 30. - Authority

"So Moses instructed the Israelites exactly as the LORD had commanded him. Validity and Annulment of Vows. Moses said to the heads of the Israelite tribes, "This is what the LORD has commanded: When a man makes a vow to the LORD or binds himself under oath to a pledge, he shall not violate his word, but must fulfill exactly the promise he has uttered. "When a woman makes a vow to the LORD, or binds herself to a pledge, while still in her father's house in her youth, and her father learns of her vow or the pledge to which she bound herself and says nothing to her about it, then any vow or any pledge to which she bound herself remains valid. But if on the day he learns of it her father opposes her, then any vow or any pledge to which she bound herself becomes invalid; and the LORD will release her from it, since her father opposed her." ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭30:1-6‬

Numbers 30 - submitting to authority. A covenant relationship, are we willing to Submit to the authority that God has placed over us. Our vows and pledges are binding with God and it is He who places those with authority over us. This chapter may seem sexist but it is what God established- authority. It is a blessing and the burden truly lies on the one who has the authority. God will hold them accountable to their vows so a covenant relationship with God and your spouse is critical to our salvation. Moses demonstrates this relationship by being obedient to his authority - God. God demonstrates His relationship by giving us His Son to die on the cross. Be willing to submit to those that God has given you. And guys, your vows and Oaths are binding so be sure to be in Union with God, He doesn't mess around.

What is God saying to me: Everything happens for a reason and sometimes we have to start over but that is also part of My plan. I will help You get it right so do not worry about having to start over.

Dear Father, You always know what to say and how to get me to put into thought what You want me to say. Thank You for the covenant relationship we have and for the one that I have at home with my bride, she is such a blessing and You trained us in our youth and we didn't even know it was happening. I thank You for the blessings of rain last night and for your providential care in keeping us safe from the storms. Prayers for marriages and for men to recognize they answer to the ultimate authority in their lives. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Daughter is Zion, pray for us.
