Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

1260 "Since Christ died for all, and since all men are in fact called to one and the same destiny, which is divine, we must hold that the Holy Spirit offers to all the possibility of being made partakers, in a way known to God, of the Paschal mystery."63 Every man who is ignorant of the Gospel of Christ and of his Church, but seeks the truth and does the will of God in accordance with his understanding of it, can be saved. It may be supposed that such persons would have desired Baptism explicitly if they had known its necessity.

Listen.  Life is a gift from God as is salvation.  How well do we hear God speak in our lives?  Jonah did not listen to God and almost dies, it was God who saved him.  It was then that he decided to listen and follow God's voice.  "The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time:"  Jonah‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬.  This time Jonah was doing God's will and not his, his world came alive as God worked through him.

Martha was given the opportunity to listen to Jesus but she was so busy making everything perfect she missed out on listening to God.  It wasn't until she complained about the unfair treatment(the path she chose), did God speak to her.  "The Lord said to her in reply, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭41‬

The burdens of life can weigh us down especially when we are too busy to listen to God.  The anxiety and worry go away, along with the troubles when we listen and act upon God's voice.  Listening to God is a skill learned by sitting still and being quiet.

Dear Father, I sit with You this morning and converse with the daily readings.  You bring back memories and images that help paint the picture that brings life to a current situation.  I thank You for sitting with me this morning and being patient as we travel together.  Prayers for our world that is distracted by many things not of You.  Help us recognize how life changes when You are front and center in all that we do.  Continue to paint the picture, Your servant is listening.  Love Your son.

Mary, Queen of Peace, Pray for us.

St Patrick, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
