Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

1261 As regards children who have died without Baptism, the Church can only entrust them to the mercy of God, as she does in her funeral rites for them. Indeed, the great mercy of God who desires that all men should be saved, and Jesus' tenderness toward children which caused him to say: "Let the children come to me, do not hinder them,"64 allow us to hope that there is a way of salvation for children who have died without Baptism. All the more urgent is the Church's call not to prevent little children coming to Christ through the gift of holy Baptism.

Prayer - God speaks.  "He was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples." He said to them, "When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come."  Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NABRE‬‬.  We can easily put ourselves in this scene as Jesus teaches.  We can repeat the Our Father prayer without evening thinking about it.

Repeating the prayer is easy, what about living the prayer, being reliant upon God for everything, recognizing that it is God who is the Giver of all good gifts, giving God time to give us daily bread, listening and applying the bread in our lives and allowing God to transform us here on earth, letting go of others faults as He let's go of ours.  Sometimes it is easier said than lived, listen to your own words today are you living out your prayer life.

Jonah prays with God in todays first reading, God speaks and Jonah hears, Jonah asks and God speaks.  Prayer is more about listening than it is speaking.  Jonah is angry with God, God teaches with the intention of filling Jonah's heart with charity and love for other over self.  God speaks in prayer, what is He saying to you.

Dear Father, there is so much more to prayer when we have ears to hear.  You have revealed Yourself in my life now I must take it in and apply it.  May we see the lives of the Saints as opportunities to learn, may we sit with Jesus and listen.  We thank You for the rain and the gift of this day, continue to transform this heart and the world around me.  Love Your son.
