1255 For the grace of Baptism to unfold, the parents' help is important. So too is the role of the godfather and godmother, who must be firm believers, able and ready to help the newly baptized - child or adult on the road of Christian life.55 Their task is a truly ecclesial function (officium).56 The whole ecclesial community bears some responsibility for the development and safeguarding of the grace given at Baptism
Lookup - Pray - Ask. "I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!" Luke 12:49. As we walk with Jesus in these days, He speaks through the daily readings and His Saints. Did He concern Himself with the troubles of His times? No, He had His hand on the plow and moved forward with conviction, compassion and love.
Today we celebrate the feast day of St Francis of Assisi. He seen His Church in ruins and heard the call of God to do something, he did. We can dwell upon the ruins and the desolation that will only torment us or we can be like Jesus and Saint Francis and do what our Father in Heaven asks. The Catechism CC1255 calls us to our responsibilities as a Baptizied Catholic and believer, to safe guard what has been given. Live out your faith, do something.
"Your people shall rebuild the ancient ruins; the foundations from ages past you shall raise up; "Repairer of the breach," they shall call you, "Restorer of ruined dwellings."" Isaiah 58:12. We live in glorious times, praise God with your actions. Have a blessed day.
Dear Father, I see Jesus walking towards Jerusalem and fulfilling His word by doing Your will. Thank You Father for the gift of this day and for the fire that burns within many souls. We do not know what we had until we have lost it, lets us not forget the gift of faith You have instilled within. Prayers for those looking at the ruins not yet able to see Your glory in action. Bless this day and all it has to offer. Love Your son.
