Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.
From the Catechism - #2725
THE BATTLE OF PRAYER
2725 Prayer is both a gift of grace and a determined response on our part. It always presupposes effort. The great figures of prayer of the Old Covenant before Christ, as well as the Mother of God, the saints, and he himself, all teach us this: prayer is a battle. Against whom? Against ourselves and against the wiles of the tempter who does all he can to turn man away from prayer, away from union with God. We pray as we live, because we live as we pray. If we do not want to act habitually according to the Spirit of Christ, neither can we pray habitually in his name. The "spiritual battle" of the Christian's new life is inseparable from the battle of prayer.
In our moments of quietness, how do we respond to God? I have experienced this a couple of times now and the quietness has been different each time. The first time was a real sense of peace of being quiet. This time is of being loved by the Father and the sense that the distractions are not from Him. Prayer is a relationship as real as our own interpersonal relationships.
As I listen to the stillness, God has been revealing Himself in various ways and thoughts. And the tempter has begin trying to create division. Yet God is greater than all that is going on for His gift of grace still overcomes everyday life.
Why do I share this? I go back to making God known, He never leaves us though we may wander off. He is constantly there whether we have a committed prayer life or not. So who ever is needing a word of encouragement maybe this is it. We can not give what we do not have nor can we understand what we have not experienced. Have a blessed day as we all are with God whether we know it or not.
Dear Father, thank You for the gift of Yourself in our everyday lives. Thank you for leading us into a deeper committed relationship where there is no separation that is permitted between each other. I am blessed to be able to experience the gift of Your love. Prayers for friends going through tuff situations, You are never far from those who call upon You. Love Your son.

St Patrick, Pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
