Daily Thoughts - Make God Known

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known

2737 "You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions."26 If we ask with a divided heart, we are "adulterers";27 God cannot answer us, for he desires our well-being, our life. "Or do you suppose that it is in vain that the scripture says, 'He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us?'"28 That our God is "jealous" for us is the sign of how true his love is. If we enter into the desire of his Spirit, we shall be heard.

Do not be troubled if you do not immediately receive from God what you ask him; for he desires to do something even greater for you, while you cling to him in prayer.29

God wills that our desire should be exercised in prayer, that we may be able to receive what he is prepared to give.30

Look within.  Do you consider the desires of your heart as adultery if God is not on His rightful throne within.  That is an interesting question we all must ponder in our journey home to the Father.  Our prayer life is our love language back to our Triune God in Heaven.  His grace is poured upon us to enter into communion with Him.  Persistence on our part to understand self and our own prejudices allows us to see where we are not in union with Love.  God is love and all that He does for us is out of love.

Jacob(Israel) yearns for the touch of his son Joesph, the son that had been taken away from him without the opportunity to say good bye.  How long did Jacob wrestle with the apparent lack of answers from God.  Yet God in His infinite wisdom reunited the two and answered the prayers of His faithful servant.   Even in the darkness of the day, Jacob never wavered and clung to God and his prayers.  We as well can learn from one that has gone before us how to live out our days.  Be faithful in all that you do and listen to the promptings of your heart.  It was made with love and He will respond with love when the time is right.

Dear Lord God, I watch and witness to You loving another soul and he wrestles with what You ask of each of us, to love You in return.  May we recognize the failings of our own hearts and give up what holds us back from truly committing to You and Your cross of salvation.  Thank You Father for the gift of this day and the blessings of Your love.  Love Your son.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
