Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.

How is our prayer efficacious?

2738 The revelation of prayer in the economy of salvation teaches us that faith rests on God's action in history. Our filial trust is enkindled by his supreme act: the Passion and Resurrection of his Son. Christian prayer is cooperation with his providence, his plan of love for men.

Faithful, that is the word that comes to mind.  In our readings this past week, God demonstrates His faithfulness to us throughout history.  The readings span several generations and God's people are never abandoned even though He gets abandoned at various times.  The acts of forgiveness from our Father in Heaven is there to be read, to build us up and to convict the heart to ask what will I do with the love of God in my life.

We can look and see how God saves Jacobs family as He brings them into Egypt.  We also know that they will be ransomed out of Egypt in their return to the promised land.

In our day, which tribe are you?   The one who spends time in worship and trusting in God's providence?  Or the one which will or has turned their back on God.  I pray I follow the example of Joesph and Jacob, by not falling away.   There is much suffering for being outside of God's grace and you don't even see it happening until it is done.  Pay attention to the times and see our culture turn their backs on God, do not participate but pick up your cross and follow Jesus.  Prayer is efficacious because it produces the result that God desires not man.   Have a blessed day.

Dear Father God, it is a beautiful morning, listening to You paint a picture and a story that repeats itself over and over again.  Help us see how within history You are giving us insights to what lays ahead.  Help us become faithful to our time in prayer together.  Within the silence of our hearts, You are at work building up the Kingdom, one block at a time, fortifying its walls for the days to come.  Watch over our families as You did Abraham's, Issac's, Jacobs and Joesph's, all will be well.  Love Your son, a member of Abrahams family.

Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
