2731 Another difficulty, especially for those who sincerely want to pray, is dryness. Dryness belongs to contemplative prayer when the heart is separated from God, with no taste for thoughts, memories, and feelings, even spiritual ones. This is the moment of sheer faith clinging faithfully to Jesus in his agony and in his tomb. "Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if dies, it bears much fruit."18 If dryness is due to the lack of roots, because the word has fallen on rocky soil, the battle requires conversion.19

Daily Thoughts - Make God Known
Some interesting metaphors that our Church gives us within its teachings. Do we see the mystical body of Christ within our broken world. In our dryness do we allow the things of this world to prevent us from digging deeper and allowing God to grow us where we are currently planted. Even in the dryness, it is where God has you if you are being sincere. In these moments it we are to dig beyond the seen and look for the unseen, this is called faith.
In todays first reading, Jacob received the blessing due him from God. He lives within the presence of God not distracted by the world. Esau on the other hand is controlled by the world, living for self without God. We all experience dryness in prayer that shouldn't mean the rocks prevents us from going deeper, seeking the conversion that God has in store for those who love Him beyond the grave. Have a blessed day, God is in control even when it doesn't like it from a worldly viewpoint, do not despair.
Dear Father, once again within the stillness You reveal the depth of what is going on as You convert a heart that is seeking You. Your timing is always perfect within the chaos of life, our challenge is not to turn away or back from You within our days. Your Son Jesus, looked to Heaven for His glory, may we learn from His trials and tribulations within the mystical body. Thank You father for the healings that You are doing in the preparation of our earthly bodies. Love Your son.
