Daily Thoughts - Easter Tuesday
Drawn. As I listen to the quietness searching for Christ, seeking to fill that which my heart desires. I like Mary do not recognize the Lord as He calls me to prayer. That first Easter morn, God calls them to the tomb, knowing it to be empty.
"And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they laid him." When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher." John 20:13-16
Mary stayed at the tomb as the apostles returned to tell of the resurrection not fully understanding. Mary does not recognize God in her midst and mistakes Him for the gardener. He calls her by name and His world is revealed to her, her joy is complete, her desire has been met.
Many mornings within prayer, it feels like that empty tomb, knowing He has been raised but there you sit waiting upon the Lord. He sits in silence and gazes upon His creation, then out of the darkness He speaks and reveals Himself.
Recognize that you are being drawn to God, recognize that desire within that only God can satisfy and go to Him. Sit in the silence, witness the emptiness of the moment and never forget He is there. Out of the silence He speaks your name and you recognize your teacher. Happy Easter, may the joy of Christ fill your soul in prayer.
"But as it is written: "What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and what has not entered the human heart, what God has prepared for those who love him,""1 Corinthians 2:9
Dear Father, I hear You calling my name, I am overwhelmed by Your love and I see. Thank You Jesus for another great day to go out into the darkness with the hope of radiating the day with Your joy. Thank You Father for eyes to see and a heart filled. Bless this day and all it has to offer, may we all recognize what brings us peace that satisfies the soul, in Jesus name, Amen.
