Daily Thoughts - He is Risen

"Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We also will come with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing." John 21:3
"They brought them into their presence and questioned them, "By what power or by what name have you done this?" Then Peter, filled with the holy Spirit, answered them, "Leaders of the people and elders: If we are being examined today about a good deed done to a cripple, namely, by what means he was saved, then all of you and all the people of Israel should know that it was in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead; in his name this man stands before you healed. He is 'the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.'" Acts 4:7-11
The witness of Christ. In todays first reading, Jesus appears to the, disciples for the third time. In a sense they are still lost, falling back into their old ways, going back to what brought comfort. They knew the story, they had the knowledge but they were not living it. Then…
Christ enters in, takes up residence in the tabernacle not made by hands. Peter comes alive and becomes the witness of the resurrection. He is no longer living in death and fear, he is alive with the Spirit of God.
Knowledge is a great thing but it serves no purpose if it is not lived. We are an Easter people, where are you within the story of Christ. Have you gone beyond?
Dear Father God, our logical minds struggle with reason trying to comprehend what is written and there you are in plain sight to be seen. Help us see our witness of Christ, have we gone beyond self and are we living with the resurrection. Help us hear a your voice today and live the story as authentic witnesses of Your reality. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen. Thank You Father!
