Daily Thoughts - Wednesday of Holy Week

Daily Thoughts - Wednesday of Holy Week

"And while they were eating, he said, "Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me."

"The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born." Then Judas, his betrayer, said in reply, "Surely it is not I, Rabbi?" He answered, "You have said so." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭21‬, ‭24‬-‭25‬

Truthfulness.  We create our own situations in life and God does help us find our way out of them but we must we honest with ourselves if we are to succeed.  Judas looks into the face of Jesus, the man who raised Lazarus from the dead and lies so easily that it is nothing to him.  When in fact it is his own grave that he has dug.

God offers a way out, gives him an opportunity to come clean and confess.  But that is not to be.  The Word of God seeks to save not condemn, it is our own words that will haunt us.  One lie leads to another and to another, to the point that even the lie seems like the truth to the one speaking it.

Listen for God to open up that door and walk thru.  Life is full of choices, if God is not leading you then who is.  Once again our own words will give us away to the evil one or leads us into salvation.  Witness what is going on and always speak the truth, it is a much simpler life.

Dear Lord God, I see You asking the questions that convict and I see Judas, Your betrayer choosing his destruction.  Help us see our own actions lead to the cause, may we always think of You before we go astray.  If we are lost, may Your words convict.  Prayers for a world gone astray, may Your peace be our guiding light, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Terror of Demons, Pray for us.
St Ignatius, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
