Daily Thoughts - We are an Easter People.
"Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you. Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings. The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little. To him be dominion forever. Amen." 1 Peter 5:7-11
Be vigilant. Do we ever really arrive in the spiritual life? Looking back through time there was a group of people "doing God's work" who believed they knew the law. In their minds they had arrived and they proceeded to crucify Jesus. Be vigilant.
As we sit with God it is He who will correct you, establish you and confirm you. Within this relationship it is God who speaks thru the words on the page and the life lessons you are being taught. If I ever get there on this side of Heaven it is because I have been lulled to sleep and have become too proud to listen.

Dear Father God, I hear You speak the truth into my heart as we reflect upon the lessons and the day ahead. I see the coaching that is going on and the lessons learned from good choices and bad ones. I thank You for the grace to sit and listen, to hear when nothing is being said. Prayers for those that are asleep, that have succumbed to the skims and lies of the devil, may they be jarred awake. Thank You Father for jarring them awake. Watch over us this day and may we be ever vigilant. In Jesus name, Amen.
