Daily Thoughts - into the deep.

Daily Thoughts - into the deep.

"And the whole people said in reply, "His blood be upon us and upon our children.""  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭25‬

Palm Sunday, our Savior enters Jerusalem on a donkey being hailed: "The crowds preceding him and those following kept crying out and saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest.""  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21‬:‭9‬

The same crowd sends him to His death.  "Pilate said to them, "Then what shall I do with Jesus called Messiah?" They all said, "Let him be crucified!" But he said, "Why? What evil has he done?" They only shouted the louder, "Let him be crucified!""  Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭22‬-‭23‬

Judas and Peter played these roles out in their own lives.  Both denying the divinity of Christ in person.  Yet in all of that there is God fulfilling His word within scripture.  It is the blood of Christ upon us, for in our own ways we as well do as the crowd did in our daily lives.

"Then one of the elders spoke up and said to me, "Who are these wearing white robes, and where did they come from?" I said to him, "My Lord, you are the one who knows." He said to me, "These are the ones who have survived the time of great distress; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."  Revelation‬ ‭7‬:‭13‬-‭14‬.  Jesus was persecuted but fulfilled His mission without physically fighting back or condemning another.  This is the blood that we all seek within.

May this week be a blessed week for you and yours as you journey towards the resurrection of Christ.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

Dear Father, I see the passion playing out before us, may it be You that responds in our place.  May we accept what comes our way with gentle understanding knowing who it is that is at the helm.  The charge is Yours and not ours as we are washed by blood of Christ on the Villa DeLaRosa.  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Head of the Holy Family, Pray for us.
St Ignatius, Pray for us.
St Patrick, Pray for us.
