Daily Thoughts - He is risen.
"When Peter saw this, he addressed the people, "You Israelites, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety? The God of Abraham, [the God] of Isaac, and [the God] of Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant Jesus whom you handed over and denied in Pilate's presence, when he had decided to release him. You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses. And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you. Now I know, brothers, that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;" Acts 3:12-17
The transformation of Peter. Peter is not the same man hiding from God, denying he knows him. Peter is a new creation and is imitating Christ, his teacher. The same people that called for the crucifixion of Christ, he speaks to. There is no anger or hate in Peter's heart, he holds no grudges or condemns them. He has forgiven them for he knows himself, from his own experience who he has received and the forgiveness he has received.
Christ has come alive within Peter, Jesus was raised from the dead and so was Peter. He was dead to his own sin and his own ignorance, now he has come to life, life with Christ.
It looks like this happened overnight for Peter but it happened over several years. Jesus and him journeyed together, they were friends and they didn't always see eye to eye. Peter now sees the glory of God within his midst. As you Journey do not become concerned with the result, relax and walk with Christ. It is He that makes the transformation within not "I". "I" must be open and obedient to the Fathers will. Have a blessed day! Happy Easter, we are an Easter people.
Dear Father, there is a joy burning within and the light of Christ that is revealing who Your creation is. I see Simon and I see Peter, two different people. I see Peter as You had intended us to be, without sin. Thank You for the gift of life. Prayers for a friend not seeing what is written, may they see their story within Your Holy Word. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
