Daily Thoughts - into the deep
"Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus who is called the Messiah." Matthew 1:16
The fathers will. Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Joesph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As we journey with Saint Joesph, he was a quiet man, very devout to the will of the Father. His direction came from above and it was his role to portray the fathers love to his son, Jesus. We each bare that responsibility to share that love in ways that are unseen.
Joesph, served his family by leading them, protecting them and sharing the gifts that were given to him. Joesph isn't heard much in the Bible yet his role was that of the father. In a way, he shares with us that small quiet voice that leads us through life. Giving instruction that passes through time which leads us home to Heaven. To all the fathers out there this morning, are you allowing those within your care the ability to grow with the gifts that God has given them?
Dear Lord God, I come before You this morning and ask for the gift of insight, the insight that Joesph had as he completed his role to raise Your Son and to care for Your daughter. Help fathers see the role they have of bringing life to their creator in our actions which share Your true nature, love. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Protector of Holy Family, Pray for us.
St Ignatius, Pray for us.
Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
