Daily Thoughts - into the deep.

"I will praise you with sincere heart as I study your righteous judgments. I will observe your statutes; do not leave me all alone." Psalms 119:7-8
""You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust." Matthew 5:43-45
Jesus on the cross, all alone, that's how much He loves you and I. How do we get to that depth of love for another? Maybe it is within our understanding of love. The love that Jesus showed on the cross was agape love, He loves His enemies without expecting anything in return. He has emptied Himself to the point of death by honoring His Father in Heaven. So the question remains, how do I get to that level of love for another?
I see Jesus on the cross loving His enemies, and I hear His words "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." In His own words, we are to pray and continue to pray. Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross, there was no self interest only love for another that had not realized how much they are loved by the Father. Sometimes we need to look at things through God's eyes(or at least try) to see it from a different viewpoint.
Dear Father God, it is another beautiful day with much to do. I thank You for the gift of life and the opportunity to grew in virtue. Help us see within what holds back Your love in our lives and get to that place of love that sees the beauty within Your creation making their way through life. Bless this day and all it has to offer, in Jesus name, Amen.
