Daily Thoughts - into the deep.

Daily Thoughts - into the deep.

"After this Jesus found him in the temple area and said to him, "Look, you are well; do not sin any more, so that nothing worse may happen to you." The man went and told the Jews that Jesus was the one who had made him well."  ‭‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭15‬

"Then he asked me, "Do you see this, son of man?" He brought me to the bank of the river and had me sit down."  ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭47‬:‭6‬

Listen.  Listen to the words Jesus gives us this morning as he speaks to the healed cripple.  "Look, you are well; do not sin any more, so that nothing worse may happen to you."  The effects of sin upon the body is devastating, Jesus tells the healed man that it is within his own power, through his worship of God, to not fall into the trappings of sin.

Sin is being redefined around us, what was once clearly sin has been adjusted by the world, what they fail to tell us the effects have not changed.  "sin, because they do not believe in me;". John‬ ‭16‬:‭89‬.

The healed cripple believes because he has experienced the Son of Man.  Now he must walk in the light or what he has will be taken away from him.  Sin separates us from the love of God, not that God wants that to happen but it is the effect of sin.  It is important that we listen to God and walk in His ways, no matter what the world around us says.

When was the last time you confessed your sins and humbly came before the Lord?  Sin is crippling.

Dear Father God, there is a treasure hidden within the simplicity of Your words.  The quiet assurance You give and is demonstrated when we walk within the right order of things as we strive to live according to Your word.  There is life that refreshes the soul and prepares another day, thank you for the gift of life.  Prayers for a soul burdened with sin, may the light of Christ accomplish His will within that soul, Amen!
