Daily Thoughts - Into the deep.
"You search the scriptures, because you think you have eternal life through them; even they testify on my behalf. But you do not want to come to me to have life.
Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father: the one who will accuse you is Moses, in whom you have placed your hope. For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"" John 5:39-40, 45-47
Jesus calls it out. He stands before His accusers and speaks the truth, their hardened hearts not to be penetrated. Moses stood before pharaoh, speaking the word of God and showing them signs yet they did not see nor hear. Jesus is doing the same, speaking the truth, showing them signs from Heaven but they are blind within themselves, convinced their god is the True God. God is ever present before us each and every day. Jesus, as Son of Man, brought God to life, you as son of man, have the same opportunity to live within the Triune God.
We can create God into our own image and likeness, so convinced can we be, that we condemn ourselves to death. When we listen with the heart to the readings and see the correlations between them, it opens up the scriptures. Then we get a glimpse of our frail human nature and a glimpse into the divine life. It is the Divine life that we seek and we can never create God into our image and likeness because He is so much more than that.
Begin each day asking the Holy Spirit to open up the scriptures to you then there will be no need to search because He becomes the teacher and we become the student, our day becomes the classroom. Have a blessed day in prayer, your life is a prayer if we listen to the Trinity.
Dear Father, we are blessed to be here, to sit at Your feet and hear Jesus as He speaks to His accusers. We see the challenges He faced and we see the conviction of truth operating within. Watch over us this day and give us the insight to self when I gets in the way. We can not operate within the Divine life alone, it is a team effort all working together. Help us be united to You, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
